I bought this cream to try to fade some wax burn marks on my upper lip and some scars I had from picking at acne. Normally, I have a very smooth face and not much acne. But when I do get acne, i tend to aggravate them more by picking at them and making them scab. I have had a few really bad wax burn marks that stained my upper lip area a shade of dark gray/black. Eww. Some of the acne scars were dark red. Fine for someone with darker skin but I am fair skinned and every little flaw on my face shows up that much worse! So embarrasing because as other girls who wax know, its the first thing people notice about your face. After using this cream for just one day, applying in the morning and at night, I saw dramatic results. I posted pictures up to help anyone who wants to see results in terms of improvement. The second picture is after using it for 3 days twice a day. The scar on my upper lip (left corner of the face) was basically entirely healed. It works. The ingredients are not anything strange or peculiar. The scent, (as it does have a scent. Certain people were saying it is unscented) is almost akin to aloe vera although I am not sure if there is any of it in the cream. After applying it, I noticed the scent but it is very very light. The cream is more translucent and kind of watery. It goes on smooth and does not leak or spill. After a minute or two, the gel seems to harden a bit and the layer of cream will peel off. I peeled off the gel and added some more before bed. It didnt 100% remove the discoloration from the burns/marks but for just 3 days it removed about 3 months of damage. I plan to use it more to try to completely return the damaged area to my original color. The efficacy of this cream seems to work consistently over time especially on older scars. But for newer scars, it seems the first couple days of applying it will do the most in terms of dramatic improvement. Afterwards, the cream works. But slows down in terms of improvement compared to the first couple uses. Nonetheless it works and I am proof.

Ever since I turned 40, whenever I get some cut or something, it scars really bad. I looked into ways to get rid of the scar and gave Mederma a try. I start to apply the gel as soon as possible once the healing has happened and have had tremendous success. I have a pale skin-tone and had a REALLY unsightly scar on the top of my hand that I could not hide at all. It was so embarrassing and I felt quite self-conscience about it. I had a second cut on my index finger that started to look horrible, and again, applied Mederma and like magic, completely gone. I just ordered a new tube of the gel to treat a spot on my shoulder where I had a biopsy taken, and I already know that it'll look fine when it's all done. You will still be able to tell that a biopsy was taken, but the incredibly ugly red blotch will be gone. The key to using Mederma is that you have to use it multiple times a day for months, and even longer if it's an old scar. New scars heal faster, which is why I don't even mess around and go straight to using it ASAP. A tube of this stuff lasts a long time, and I go through about 3/4 of a tube per scar. It doesn't take much, just a tiny little drop. It's clear, rubs in really easy, and there's no medicine smell. Incidentally, I asked my doctor what would be good for removing a scar, and he said that any lotion that had Vitamin E would do the trick. I asked him about these scar gels and he said that all they are is a gel with Vitamin E in them. So, I'm sure that no matter which scar gel you choose, Mederma or not, it'll probably work fine. Once my scar heals, I will post a before and after pic. Reason for purchase: I was at an overseas airport very early in the morning. I was exhausted. I needed to fill out a departure card but did not want to exit the line, so I ducked under a stanchion and grabbed a card. When I was ducking to get back into the line, I head-butted the stanchion. HARD. I tried to play it cool, but crikey- did it hurt like hell. Luckily, it did not bleed but I clearly scraped off enough layers of skin before it would have bled badly. The missing skin was right where my hairline meets my forehead. I needed something that would get rid of the scar quickly since it was very visible. Pros: 1) I like how easy it was to use this medication. I rubbed some on my forehead before I went to bed, and that was it. 2) The smell is light and pleasant. I was expecting it to smell like crap, but that was definitely not the case. 3) After 3-4 months, I can see how the medication worked. You can barely see that there was anything there. Cons: 1) The medication took longer than indicated to work. It was about at the four-month mark that I could see a difference. I can't complain, though. Without it, the scar would still be quite visible or it would certainly have taken a lot longer to fade. Summary: Now that I know that it will take a bit more time to work, I am confident that any other scars I have will fade with this product.

This product does what it promises. It does fade scars. It just doesn't tell you what it leaves behind after that. This product burns your skin. Well, it does mine. It might be some kind of bleach that helps it fade scars because it surely burned me. Not burned like fire to your face now its black and torched, but it felt like it was on fire. It made the area red and puffy and it was extra sensitive for more than a week. You have to put it on 3 or 4 times in a day which is probably why it had a burning effect. Be careful if your using other products along with Mederma because it might and will cause some kind of reaction that you don't want. It's very watery. It's not a cream it's a step higher then water. It makes the area sticky afterwards and when it dries you'll get some white flakes.

Seen a huge improvement in my scar's visibility. I Can hardly see the incision lines after 6 months post operation.The Mederma Advanced helped provide a (I'm sorry) Moist, environment to help keep unwanted keloids and the like forming, seemed to help soften the skin as well during the early stages of my healing. I didn't get to start using the PM Cream right away, but it, alongside the Merderma Advanced Scar gel, seem to provide around the clock scar healing to the point where its extremely faded against my normal skin tone. Something I don't think would have happened without it. I find the addition of rubbing the scars with the cream/ gel also promotes desensitizing as it doesn't cause me any discomfort. All of the above I think contributing to a far better result in healing than if I had decided not to use these creams to aid the process along. Both of the bottles still have about 25-35% left (Mederma PM 1oz) (Mederma advances 20g) Has a pleasant smell.

Leí muchas opiniones de este producto y me decidí a probarlo para una cicatriz quirúrgica de 13 cm y estoy muy contenta con el resultado, tengo mes y medio usándolo y he notado mucha mejoría, el color rojo ha bajado mucho para el poco tiempo que llevo usándolo y esperó seguir viendo los resultados, yo compré 2 tubos ya que soy consciente que es imposible que en 2 meses como menciona la caja, se pueda ver un resultado completo sobre una cicatriz grande como la mía, así que la usaré el tiempo necesario, pero va bien, la recomiendo mucho!
