The show--largely extemporized--follows suit of David's former series, Seinfeld: it's a show about nothing, just the everyday life of the star going about his pseudo-real world. But David's show has far more edge (thanks, in part, to airing on cable TV) with all the bad luck, embarrassing situations, and dreadful behavior as its premiere season. The closest thing to an arc is David's season-long pitch to the networks for a new show starring former Seinfeld stars Jason Alexander and Julia-Louis Dreyfus. Each network is lampooned, especially HBO, which David has a bad history with in this alternate world. Sure to repel those with soft funny bones, Curb's acerbic comedy allows jokes where David is accidentally framed--if ever so briefly--as a child molester, wife abuser, or murderer. But for those who do love his shtick, there are big laughs, especially when we bump into characters as unbridled as David, like a fellow writer who is quite protective of his dad's invention, the Cobb salad. Many comic actors pop up, some as "themselves" (Richard Lewis, Rob Reiner) and others as characters (Rita Wilson, Ed Asner) along with the delights of co-stars Cheryl Hines as David's wife and his affable manger, Jeff Garlin. There are several touchstone bits: what a thong brief can do to a relationship, a run-in with pro wrestler, Larry's first baptism, and one very collectible doll. To pick one episode to capture this second season--and its grandstanding nature--it would be "Shaq," in which the NBA star is accidentally tripped, changing David's usual bad luck with gut-busting results. --Doug Thomas Review: Funny!! - Extremely well done. Normally I like older shows, and don't like shows with "mature" language however, it all works in this series. In my opinion this is one of the funniest TV shows I've watched in a long time. In fact since desertcart Streaming only has 3 seasons I've come here to buy the rest of them. Larry David is brilliant and acts so naturally. This is coming from someone that never really liked Seinfeld. The rest of the cast is great too. The language can get raunchy at times so I probably wouldn't let young kids watch this however, it is used appropriately so it doesn't bother me at all. The writing is funny and intelligent. From what I've read it isn't a scripted show. The actors are given an outline of what to say and do but a great deal of it is ad libbed by the actors. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the seasons.

Finally An Intelligent Show
I was looking for something new to watch when I saw this on Amazon Streaming on my Roku. I'd heard of it but had never seen it since I don't have HBO. A reminder of how weak most UK comedy is by comparison
Despite all the criticism of US TV, I continue to be amazed by the quality of those programmes which make it over to Ireland. It is getting to the stage where the HBO white noise is an immediate sign of excellence. I discovered Curb a few years back and was instantly addicted. Incredibly cringeworthy scene upon scene but balanced on a knife edge of humour. Larry is who we would all love to be. He has no filters. These box-sets are a godsend since the TV networks here are so slow to show new episodes and for some stupid reason, show them late at night on an ever changing schedule. If you love great comedy you'll love this.

brutally honest and as funny as they get
Larry David is rude, crude, politically incorrect, brutally honest and as funny as they get. I love, love, love this show. Susie Essman as Susie Green is hilarious!! Actually the whole cast, including guest stars are fantastic. I am working to obtain all the seasons on DVD as I can watch these episodes time and again and never get tired of seeing them. This is an awesome show....Seinfeld fans you gotta watch this!!

Pure Genius!
One of the funniest shows ever. Larry David is the comic genius behind Seinfeld and he shines here in his own series where he continues to tell tales of nothing as you watch the regular Larry David going about life in the most ridiculous and comedic way possible. Recommended for everyone, but its an adult comedy, as the humor tends to push the envelope sometimes.

worst show ever - do NOT be fooled by the 5-star reviews!
This is the worst show ever produced - taking advantage of Seinfeld fans misguided loyalty, and the wrongful thought, that since this is made by Larry Davis, it has to be good... it don't! After a couple of episodes (if you actually get this deep into it before throwing away the dvd's) you realise that the dialogue actually follows the same structure and speech patterns that Seinfeld does - only this show has no proper actors or comedians to deliver the lines. It's stiff, slow, tries to hard but keeps on failing, annoying, embarrassing and quite frankly a disaster. I have no idea who these guys are that gives this 5 stars, but they have to be family of Larry's. I bought the entire series based on the stupid 5 star reviews and the fact that I too thought that 'Larry Davis, this can only be good' - but I've had to through the dvd's out without even seeing all the episodes. Waste of time and money!!!

Long time fan of Larry David, so I passed this on as a gift. It was well received and the giftee said that they never laughed so hard.

Don't bother buying if you're in the UK as it won't work. The dvd only works in region 1. This is not stipulated when buying and they won't even organise the return and want you to pay for the return postage! Waste of money.

Season two of the best show on TV today. This is the way more shows should be made I think.
