Great capo, one of the better ones I've had.
The squeeze action on this thing is incredibly smooth and takes almost zero effort. But the real game-changer is the tension dial. You just tweak it until the string buzz stops, and it applies exactly the right amount of pressure without pulling your strings sharp. It saves me so much time since I don't have to constantly retune every time I move it. It's also made of aluminum, so it feels super sturdy but is shockingly lightweight and it doesn't make the guitar feel neck-heavy at all when I'm playing standing up. It's an awesome, reliable tool. Totally worth the money.

Solid quick-change capo with tension adjustment
Capos tend to hold up well over time for me, so this is the first one I've bought in ages. It replaces a Kyser quick-change style that did just fine, but I never loved the way it looked. This style tucks itself away underneath the neck of the guitar and still stays out of the way. The build quality is excellent and I love the fact that you can adjust the tension like you can with higher-end capos. Finally, you can pop it on and off just as easy as my trusty Kyser. Would recommend.

Awesome! best Capo I ever bought!
This thing is pretty great! I have 3 other Capos of different types and They have never worked this good! The three others were two different ones I bought separately years ago, one even has a date stamped from the factory....So like it's basically where they figure it will lose its spring strength over time....I have another similar one....Both have lost the strength to work without buzz...one other Capo came in a "guitar bundle" That was my go to but I felt it isn't the right tension anymore....So I don't like the fact they lose tension over time and I was looking for something sturdier....Something where I am not limited to the strength of the spring or hinge....Since they seem to basically be disposable as they wear out....I found this....The material it is made of is impressive....(the other capos are all plastic and have a hinge, the hinge is spring loaded....They wear out....) Then again The Capos I have were not expensive, they were basically budget Capos, less than $10 and the one that came in a guitar bundle was better made but still it too is breaking down....I also noticed there are grooves worn into my other 3 capos....Where the strings push into the Capo's "rubber" strip that presses down on the strings....So that was a problem since they didn't adequately press the strings, on top of the spring loaded hinges have lost strength foo....So This one seems built to last....It kind of has basically a rubber coating on the whole thing, plus it's metal so it hopefully won't get string grooves like the others, Plus this having the tension adjustment "spring" where you turn the little piece on the end to tighten or loosen the tension....Which eliminates the whole problem with the others I have....You can adjust it so it's just right, just exactly what level of tension you need.....Also I tried an experiment, I put my finger in the middle and tightened it up...To see how it holds....It looks in the tension right now you want it and holds it....You squeeze the parts on the back of it to remove it....But the tension of it against the strings stays where you set it, rather than it just being a hinge that holds it. If seems like it will last quite a while too....The tension adjust part of it is great. I recommend this....Spend a little more and get this which will last a lot longer than the economy types....This is great especially if you have buzzing issues with the cheap Capos....The tension adjuster part is really worth the extra money spent.

Works great
Very pleased. Price was right for me. Only bought to be able to play an older song I just learned. Seems well made. Love the adjustability of it. Had to adjust a tad out of box.

Not for 12, but good with 6 strings
I did a seacrh for a 12-string capo, and this came up at the top of the page with tqwo others. I bought it and found it is not suitable for a 12-string. Either a lot of buzzing or tightened to out of tune. I note that D'Addario in THEIR ads does not claim to be usable on a 12-string It is however one of the best I have used on my 6-string instruments; I kept it and would recommend it for this purpose. It is easy to adjust to the point where all strings are clamped but not to the point of tuning issues.

Absolutely the best!
Having played guitar for nearly 55 years, you can be sure that I have used every imaginable capo, looking for the best one in a performing setting as well as a recording setting. Up until using this capo, my capo of choice was the Shubb roller bearing, aluminum capo. It is an outstanding product, especially in a recording environment where speedy capo changes are not a concern. But I am going to have to go with the Planet Waves Tri-Action capo for the performing settings. There is nothing to compare it to, really, for accuracy and ease of use. It can be parked on the head of the guitar when not in use, and can be adjusted by the screw adjustment to suit your needs. I find that with no adjustment at all, I can capo anywhere and anytime on the first 6 frets, with not a single string being pulled out of tune. That's as far as I ever capo, so that suits my needs perfectly. The spring release grip requires no squeezing effort at all to put on or take off of a fret, and you can be sure your strings will still be in tune! There is no way to explain how superior this capo is to all others that I have used. There is a slight radius to the barre, to accommodate most guitar necks, and the rubber material that rests on the strings is soft enough to prevent a harsh, tinny, sound, yet just hard enough to produce a bright, natural acoustic sound. I could go on and on, but you just have to experience it. If the only capo you have ever used is a Kyser, and you think it is really great, then you need to do yourself a huge favor, and upgrade to the Planet Waves Tri-Action capo. You will quickly realize that you Kyser probably will never be picked up again, except for that occasional song that requires you to capo just a few strings. Absolutely the best capo I have ever used.

Fantastic Capo
I only use the D’Addario NS Tri-Action capos now - they just work great. The grip is solid and holds tuning perfectly on both electric and acoustic guitars. It’s easy to move with one hand, fits securely, and doesn’t leave any marks on the neck. I’ve had mine for years, and it’s still as sturdy and smooth as the day I bought it. Excellent quality and definitely worth it!

Great pressure and Easy to use
Best Capo I have ever tried! It also has a clip to hold your Pic. This works great for wider neck guitars. Highly recomend!
