10/10 a must have
We went through multiple watering systems for our chickens trying to find one that didn’t leak. We got the buckets for around the property but this for inside the coop. Everything else leaked. I was almost afraid to buy it because of the price but honestly, I’d buy it again if I needed to. Easy to use, no set up process at all. Great quality!! 10/10 on functionality. Love the durable design. Just pick it up and move it when needed to clean the coop.

good system could be better
Really like this system.Would like to have the plastic a little thicker.thogh.Nipples leak some what which I think is normal. a drip pan takes care of this.A sight glass would be nice.In the future I am going to put nipples in a rust proof 55 gallon barrel as I have to hall water to chicken shed.. a

Great, sturdy, and sanitary water dispenser for chickens
This was a great purchase. It allows a lot of water to be available for when you might have to take extended trips. It keeps the water clean and chickens don't have any issues using it. It does not leak. We had a container with the cups that fill with gravity, but those always got clogged up with dusk as if you know if you own chickens, they kick up a ton of dirt everywhere. These water nipples are much cleaner that any of the ones that have cups. I wish I had bought this sooner. It is very sturdy and well made. When filled with water it is heavy and you don't have to worry about chickens knocking it over. The thickness of the plastic walls makes it feel durable and I have not seen any signs of aging and we have been using it for several months. It is not insulated so the water temperature doesn't stay super cool, but it also is not hot.

Buying from TSC v. Amazon
I bought my first one from TSC and it worked great until one of my chickens pulled at the metal nipple and sprung it. Lol. But you can physically inspect it in the store to make sure everything is good with it. But since "chick season" is over, TSC doesn't carry these right now. So when my spring sprung on the middle nipple, nobody had replacement nipples or the waterer! So I bought a brand new waterer on Amazon while getting a quick fix at Ace to plug the hole where I removed the leaky nipple, just to not waste all 12 gallons in my existing waterer until my new one came. Ugh! CHORE! It got here today, November 10, 2023, and yet...lo and behold! The middle, stupid, nipple was dripping like crazy! And the chickens hadn't even gotten to it yet! So now I had to figure that out!!! Beware buying from Amazon on tricky things like this! I can't even buy the nipples at TSC right now, at this time of year, because nobody bothers keeping chicken things in stock until Spring comes and chick season begins except feed and normal stuff! UPDATE: Since that day, all three of the nipples on the one I ordered are defective and I had to replace them. Today is November 17th. I don't expect any responses from the company. They don't seem to care what people have been saying about this same issue that others have experienced. I have yet to see a complaint answered by them. So, just to reiterate...Don't buy online. Find them in a store so, at lease, you can physically inspect it before spending your money on one. It is a good idea, but if the company isn't going to back up its product, they aren't worth patronizing.

Difficult in the beginning but think will ultimately be great.
I have really been looking for another alternative for watering my backyard chickens. Their existing method was constantly getting filled with with debris as well as the containers would easily get filled with muck (algea, mold?). I also wanted something where if I had to have help with the birds bc of being out of town it would take some pressure off of my helper. I saw this and saw it had mixed reviews and also saw it’s pretty expensive. I tried it anyway. For starters, once filled it’s very heavy. So make sure it’s where you want it before you get started. Secondly, it took me about a week, but I realized (or think) it was too low for the birds so I put it up on two bricks to make the nipples more aligned with their heads. (Could prob still be a little higher). Thirdly, training them on this has NOT been easy. I have 9 birds of different ages and sizes and the large birds are not tame or easy to pick up. They (none of them) would not pay attention to the waterer at all. Once they would go to their coop at night...I would have to go pick each bird up one by one and take them to the waterer and hold their head and beaks up to the nipple over and over to show them. Needless to say....they were NOT happy with this scenario and I made them angry. Not to mention it was time consuming and a little stressful for me bc I knew it was going to be a fight for me and 9 birds. These past couple of days I took all other water options away from them. They were very thirsty it was obvious to me. It made me feel badly. They still would not drink. Finally, in the past day or two they were around the area of the waterer and I started pushing the nipples with my fingers letting the water stream out. The chickens were going crazy and running to it. I did this for a very long time trying to show them to drink the water from the nipple vs off the ground (which is what they were doing ). Finally a few tried to get water from the nipples but it didn’t come out easily. They have to hit it with their beaks just right. We are on day two....and it seems to be somewhat better. Once again, this am I let the water flow with my finger which brought the birds running. They seem to be picking it up but it seems as if it is taking them quite a while be become satisfied. As if they aren’t getting enough water. I am hopeful this is going to get better every day and they become more versed at getting the water out efficiently. So, if you have a lot of patience and time this could end up being great. The size is great. The ease of cleaning when necessary is great. Just be ware that you will have to actually train the birds to use this which was very hands on for me. But once they are all fully trained and comfortable I believe this will be great overall. Amendment: I just wrote this review today....but decided to look inside to see “how much was gone to try and gage their drinking”. I’ve only had this a week....and I PUT the vinegar inside.....look at all the mold....and this is supposed to last a month???? What’s going on here! P.S.S! I’ve had this for many months now. I moved the location from out of the direct sun which seems to have helped worn the “mold” inside. I have it tucked up in the bushes more (however, the sun will still hit it finding the day) but I haven’t noticed the mold....the birds all know how to use which is great. However, I still supplement with standard water stations bc I just cannot help myself. They def seems to get “more water” and drink “longer” from standard water stations. But I do see them drink from this as well which is good to know if anything should happen or the other water stations turn over etc. My birds would prob be fine if I took the other stations away....but I just like knowing they have what they need in ample abundance. I would buy this product...especially if you have a lot of birds. I do think you would find some value in it. I just got a new baby added to the group and she learned on her own. Perhaps from watching the others-which was great that I didn’t have to do it! Star assessment updated since mold issue resolved.

A chicken owner must have.
My absolute favorite chicken waterer. I love the size of it and the fact it hold 12 gallons of water. So the water retention is amazing! Easy to assemble. It’s functionality is amazing not have to fill your waterer every day. It is compatible with a deicer. So no more dealing with on unthawing frozen chicken waterer. The weight empty isn’t heavy. Filled we’ll forget picking that up. I put down bricks to put it on. Added bonus chickens can’t dirty their water.

Best purchase I have ever made for my coop!
I bought two of these five years ago and have been searching for more. Just found these and bought two more!! They are well worth the money. Sturdy, no drip and have lasted! I also have the matching feeders. This company understands what is needed in a coop.

Worth it for Me!
We keep it in the shade and fill it up 2 times a month. Occasionally, one of the spouts might drip on it's own but after I push it in it usually seats correctly. It doesn't get smelly so far and the chickens figured it out pretty quickly. Approximately 10 chickens are using it. We don't use this during winter.

Yes you can keep chicken water clean
Well designed. Chickens can not spoil the water. Can buy a heater to keep from freezing in colder climates. We live in Ontario, Canada. Works well

Really a good watered. Holds a lot and no mess.
Nipples are too difficult for newborn chick to operate, but no problem by the time they’re 4 weeks old. Perfect for my older birds. No spills, no mess.

EASY
Sturdy watering unit, looks nice, holds just over 12 gallons of water. The ‘bowls’ under the drinking pippet are too small, and too low down. When elevated on cinder blocks the waterer tipped when half full. The lid does not secure well to the base. I needed a heavy flat rock to prevent chickens from getting the lid off the waterer. The water went ‘off’ within a day and no amount of disinfecting and cleaning changed that, even when only filled half full it was a waste of water, as it had to be changed every day! Worst purchase I ever made. Total waste of money. When I complained the manufacturer told me to buy bigger bowls and switch them out. Rubbage.

great waterer
I wanted a waterer that held a lot of water and was easy to refill. This fits the bill for my outdoor chicken runs!
