Not so sure about this harness, sigh...
After three uses I'm ambivalent about this harness. First, it's difficult to put on a dog who can't stand up. Second, in action, the harness slips backward so that I have no directional control of my dog. In addition, he had to poop during the first outing and the bunched-up harness became soiled. Lastly, the hold-strap isn't adjustable (...I knew that before the purchase and I just had to hope that that would be ok...but it wasn't...) so that my 6'5" frame must stoop to hold the handle. I'll need to jury-rig something so that I can stand up straight and so that the harness doesn't slide backward.

Very easy to use
My dog has Degenerative Myelopathy and cannot use her hind legs. I tried a cart which she would have nothing to do with, and then the Gingerlead , which she would have nothing to do with. On the advice of friends in a FB group for the disease I purchased the Walkabout with fingers crossed but not expecting my Libby to walk with this on either. BUT SHE DID!!! It is the answer to my prayers! Very easy to use, washable, lightweight. I put this on her and we take off trotting . She is able to 'do her business' wearing this though you do have to wash it occasionally. Excellent support for their rear end, you just walk beside them holding the 'leash' that is attached to both sides of the harness. This works beautifully for me and my little wirefox terrier. I got the small, she weighs 14-15 lbs.

Dog approved
I've been trying various lift devices for my 12 year old Labrador. She has a weak rear due to hip displasia and arthritis. She is still not accepting of more complicated lift systems. This one is easy to put on(big plus) and she doesn't object to using this to help her in and out of my SUV and onto my bed at night.

This is a life saver for me and my pet. He is a large Golden Retriever and he has an adrenal tumor that has affected his back legs. He can't get up on his own anymore so this has been a big help for us. I leave it on him all the time now but have put soft cushioning around the leg areas and loosen it at night but don't remove it.

Use for my crippled cat.
I have a crippled cat that is unable to use her back legs. If I hold her up then she can walk well with her front legs but that is not good for MY back. The harness works to let me walk her and allow me to stand up straight. It seems well made and is fairly easy to put on her. I was concerned when I ordered if it would really be small enough for her but it does fit well. I do not leave it on her. I only put it on when we are going outside for a walk; usually once or twice a day.

Wonderful!
I got this harness for my 14 year old pit/shepherd mix who had advanced hip dysplacia. He had a really hard time even getting up, and walking was becoming a problem too. Unfortunately, we had to put him down to spare him from any more suffering, but this harness did allow him to go for walks a couple more weeks, and he was so happy being able to go out. It was fairly easy to put on, the material was soft and non-pinching, and it made getting around so much easier for him. Worth every penny.

Thank God for these harnes's
After our child/dog had back surgery for a ruptured disc he could not move his legs or back half of his body. This was a life saver. We could walk him and rehabilitate him on our own. Thankfully we do not need it anymore as he is 90%. better now and can walk on his own. But I don't know what we would have done with out it !

We got this back end harness to support the hind legs of our dog that broke his pelvic bone. It worked great. At first we tried a belt with a towel around it but it kept sliding around. With the harness we could easily help him stand and then walk him outside to go potty. The harness fits great so that for the most part when he "went " he missed the harness. They have been a few times when he pooped that it hit the side but could be easily wiped off. This was a lifesaver for us as his recover period with little to no activity was 8 weeks long!!! He is doing great now.
