Great Book as far as reading is concerned .. But as the book clearly emphasizes, the music written can't come near to capturing all the subtleties, details, etc. that listening to the accompanying audio files does, and I couldn't agree more,.. Which I downloaded on my Fire Tablet, but THEY WILL NOT PLAY!!! WHAT A RIP-OFF! The instructions said it would be better to download it to your desktop computer, but I don't have a current model desktop computer, or laptop, and I'll be damned if I'm going out to buy one just so I can hear audio files from a $10 book! This makes the book shamefully incomplete!! If you are going to sell a book on AMAZON, with audio files downloaded to one of your Amazon devices, then you should insure that YOUR PRODUCT WORKS WITH YOUR (AMAZON) DEVICE !!! This book is severely handicapped without those audio files! Basically making it less than half of a book!

Just received this and thumbed through it. I was quite disappointed and partly blame myself. I should have known what this was going to be: the barest thumb nail sketch of many different players. There's a page of introduction about the guitarist and their gear and then 3-5 licks. Then on to the next guitarist (different style, different tuning, different slide finger, etc.). The books not worthless, but really is not very useful.

As someone who has been playing slide guitar for more than 20 years, I was surprised at how much this book had to offer me. Even in the styles I thought were my "bread & butter" I found ways to improve my playing. On top of that I was exposed to some players and styles I have never tried before.As if that were not enough, Levi (the author) takes the time to explain the history and approach of the 20 famous players who are featured in these 100 licks.And don't forget, you get downloadable audio for each of the 100 licks

Perfect reference to get you going again when the same old repertoire is getting boring. This is not an instruction process book with step by step lessons. It's a nice collection of lines and licks that you can go to randomly spice things up and get your mojo working again! Clear direct audio examples make it easy and fun to learn new stuff on the fly. I personally am very gratified when I can add a solid lick from a master to my own intermediate level of play. No brainer - Great go-to slide guitar book for instant incorporation into your own blues bag.

I’ve played guitar for years and always wanted to learn to play slide guitar. So far this book has taught me and I’m off to a great start!

It is obvious that a significant effort went into creating this book. Levi covers different styles and players, and provides background and explanation for each of the players studied. I genuinely enjoyed reading this before I even picked up the guitar (and slide) to start practicing.

Not for the beginners but great information

Meh..... after waiting nearly a month the content is okay. I hoped for more information on musicians technique, tone and more licks.

You have to go through a lot of reading before you even get to a lick. Audio files require you to enter an email address. More spam!

Haven't played my slide guitars for a while. This is a good resource that provided easy-to-follow steps that refreshed and extended my skills. I'm a better guitarist than I was before I bought it!!!! The downloaded soundfiles give a target aim for that enhances the value of the book. I'll buy more

a great book, well documented, with various types of techniques by famous musicians, I will certainly be inspired.

単なるフレーズ集ではなく、アーティストの略歴なども紹介されています。スライドプレイヤーのカタログといったところでしょうか。それぞれの作品から抜粋したようなフレーズが、1人につき4フレーズ程度紹介されています。散見される誤植が翻訳の足枷になるかもしれません。そして、デモ演奏は決して素晴らしいものとは言えません…。
