Cheaply made does not stay in. Keeps coming loose and eventually the passenger side fell off.

Yes, these vents do enhance the look of the X5, but…There are a couple of gotchas.First, removal of the existing vents is anything but straight-forward. I used a plastic pry tool and was able to easily get between body and vent, but it was unclear as to which side to best approach. I first tried the forward edge, starting from the top. That is the “white clip” side. Vent came off pretty easily, but one white clip retaining point was destroyed in the process, although the white clip itself was fine. For the other side, I began from the rear edge, the “yellow clip” side. Again, the vent was easy to move away from the fender, but using this side, all 3 yellow clips popped loose, and each clip’s retaining point/bracket was destroyed. In addition, 2 of the clips actually fell inside the vent/fender cavity. These were retrievable, but required slightly opening the undercarriage cover to find them. The clips themselves were undamaged. The result is that neither original vent can go back on the vehicle without adhesive, as the clips will never be able to reattach.The old clips must be reattached to the new vents and the instructions included are incorrect. There are 4 white clips on one side of the vent, and 3 yellow clips on the other. Instructions incorrectly indicate yellow and white on the same side. In addition, 2 of the 4 white clips are hidden under the black vent opening cover and best accessed with the vent opening cover removed (it simply unclips and slides off).Now the really important point:The yellow clips will not properly seat in the new vent mounting points/brackets. The brackets are poorly molded and do not hold these clips secure and they will fall off! I highly advise using adhesive to secure each yellow clip. I used a silicone adhesive to allow for a slight give as the clips are nudged when popping the vent in place. A rigid adhesive might fracture under that brief stress.Let the glue dry (cure) before reattaching the vents. Reattach seating the white clip edge first, then pressing the yellow edge firmly. That edge will click in to place with each yellow clip seating firmly against the inside of the fender.The white clips seem to attach to their mounting points/brackets fine, with one exception, and I used same adhesive for that one, so inspect carefully.Do not use these vents without gluing the yellow clips!Pictures show original vents (silver/shiny) and their yellow clip mounting brackets, and new (black) vents and the same molded brackets. The difference is in the inability of the clips to wedge into a secure seating position; there is not enough wedge capability with the new vent yellow clip mounting bracket.
