Used this for a direct replacement of the 2.1 GPM pump on a pull-behind sprayer. There is a noticeable difference in the increased flow of this unit compared to the 2.1 GPM. Pressure has increased some as well. I was a bit skeptical that I would see much difference compared to the 2.1 GPM pump, but there is a good difference. Happy with the purchase.

This 3.8gpm pump has the highest volume of the three pumps as it uses a larger chamber and pistons to do the work:1.0gpm=35psi@4amps, 2.1gpm=60psi@8amps, [email protected] 1.0 is OK for general bug spraying, but when you have to lay down something like liquid fertilizer, I would go with the 2.1 or the 3.8.Addendum:Just received the wrong part; they sent a 1.0gpm pump (which I already have). Contacted the seller (not the one selling the part now) and they got a hold of Fimco and Fimco nicely sent me the correct part and was told to keep the 1.0 they sent as a freebie (not bad).I hooked up the 3.8 in place of the 1.0 and was not that impressed with the performance of the pump.It does not work as hard as the 1.0 (which is a good thing), and from what I could tell puts out 30% to 50% more fluid, but not what you would expect going from a 1.0gpm to almost 4 times that to the 3.8gpm pump.I was a bit worried about the 11amp draw compared to the 4amp draw of the 1.0, but it seems to work fine off of a lawn tractor battery.All in all, if I was to do it all over again, I would probably go for the 2.1gpm at a lower cost.At the start of the 2012 summer season (late April) I am using a car battery with more amps and have added 50 feet of air hose (cheap and works fine) to get into those spots where the Toro Workman can't go. The output is a bit better (piston pumps faster), but still not what you would expect.

Bought to replace a 2.3 GPH pump. Hook directly to battery with fuse because of the high amp draw. Worked great for about three minutes then just stopped. The return was trouble free so at least there’s that.

Great pump! Just wish it was available to buy another. Have had for 4 years now.

The pump works great. I have been using these pumps for years in the field to clean drilling equipment and supply water to pressure washers.Just remember to check the tightness on the screws after a few days of use and don't ever let them freeze in the winter. Windshield washer fluid works great as a cheap environmentally-friendly antifreeze.

works like a champ, I use these to pump water from a 55 gallon drum to water my fruit trees in remote areas of the ranch. 55 gallon drum, car battery, solar charger, this pump, short piece of hose, cart and you're good to go!

It's a great pump. Just make sure you have enough spray heads for it's flow. I use their manifold with the release port for excess chemical back into the tank.
