Red Enchilada Sauce, Medium, 19 Ounce

Ok I really liked this sauce, it has a deep flavor and reminded me a bit of molé. However, it’s not the typical bright “red” enchilada sauce you normally get in a can. It’s brown and really good.

I prefer another brand, hence the 4 stars. This brand seemed to be redder and a little bit spicier than my usual brand which is a browner color and less spicier. It'll do in a pinch when you might need something in a hurry. It came overnight, and I was able to get my enchiladas made for Thanksgiving and mixed it in with my usual brand. They turned out good.

Amazon has it, of course, which the local stores have not or only the hot and that is not what I want in enchilada sauce. The price is better on Amazon as usual. I have always used Las Palmas for its quality and taste. I usually add a little chicken stock to cut the harsh chili taste which they all have straight out of the can and thicken a bit with a flour and water slurry. Good red sauce.

My family did not like this sauce. We are used to a sweeter sauce. This is gritty, again probably just more authentic and we are not used to it.

Sauce was bitter .Can was dented Packaging looked like it was good which leads me to believe the can was dented when they shipped it.
