While olive oil, and any food product, is going to be a subjective experience, I think it safe to say, as someone who goes through gallons of olive oil a year, and has literally gone on several olive oil tasting trips in the Mediterranean Basin, that the Amazon-branded Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) is a total bargain and an excellent value. Aroma: Mellow Flavor: Medium profile; not light, but not heavy Body: Medium Palate: Smooth, Buttery Conclusion: This is an excellent oil for cooking, sautéing, and dressings. It is to my knowledge, the best price for an EVOO online (in the United States), as of the date of this review. It is also a better value than can be found in any of my area's stores or shops, the exception being Costco, but I don't have a Costco membership, or I would likely be buying Costco's bulk EVOO. In lieu of that... Amazon to the rescue!

Excellent quality, I usually order my extra virgin olive oil from Greece and it comes in a huge 5-gallon square can, but I like to use a lower cost brand for frying my french fries as most Greeks use extra virgin olive oil for frying french fries so I decided to try this Amazon brand. I am 100% certain that anyone from the Mediterranean region of the world would approve. I personally prefer a robust grassy and peppery flavor, this oil has a strong peppery flavor but lacks grassy if that's what you're looking for? But it's ok, If I can't have both the grassy and peppery flavor, I'll accept either one of the two any time instead of a mild Extra virgin olive oil. A strong peppery taste in extra virgin olive oil is caused by high levels of the antioxidant oleocanthal, while a strong grassy taste comes from the use of early harvest olives. Both are indicators of a fresh, high-quality oil, with peppery oils being more pungent and grassy oils often having vegetal notes like cut grass. As far as my choice for french fries, I mix a 1.1 ratio of one bottle of Extra virgin olive oil to 1 bottle of light olive oil so that it's not too strong. I also bought the Amazon light olive oil (refined) so that I can mix the two together for my french fry oil only while I use the extra virgin olive oil strictly for other dishes. I store my french fry oil in a separate stainless-steel pot with a cover and I use it several times before I dump it.

I am a chef that has used super high quality olive oils and this is amazing for the price point. No it isn't like ultra quality olive oils but if you buy less expensive olive oils you will not see or taste a difference. Ranks closely to the bertolli brand
