How do I order the size?

I have a 17 inch knee and wear an XL

What about lateral support. We are looking at this for my daughter who plays basket ball, and wants something to prevent knee injury she is a post and gets beat up alot, and is worried about her knew being push sideways or back. Does it decrease range of motion? thank you

Yes it does. Exact reason I tried this one, and no it does not restrict movement unless you are doing anything like knelling or deep knee bends (squatting). The extra padding puts a little extra pressure on the front of the knee. It is warm to wear so expect a lot of sweating, but has held up to multiple washing's very well. Would buy again when needed!!
