They had one job to do ...,
Concerning the 'TRIPLE TREE 34 OZ Uninsulated Single Walled Stainless Steel Sports Water Bottle 18/8 Food Grade', only, the item I received is exactly as advertised, but that it doesn't weigh 8.5 oz, rather being 6.97 oz, or 7.18 oz with the included carabiner. The Amazon spec's say it's '18/8 Food Grade stainless steel', yet etched on the outside, under the TRIPLE TREE brand name, it says '304 stainless steel'. For what it's worth, I have no idea if they are the same thing by a different name or not, but just to say, it's described by two different names, in case that matters to someone. The carabiner is a freebie, and as such, it's clearly not stainless steel, but perhaps aluminum or something similar,. It is solid tho, with the spring snap lock sufficiently stiff so as to avoid most accidental releases, but easy enough to move intentionally. It's surprisingly good quality, and for a throw-in, a nice touch. Also a nice, is that the 'C' wire handle that the carabiner clips to, is of course SSteel and swivels left to right, yet requires enough force applied to do so, that it won't move on it's own, keeping any rattling at bay. Sweet, and totally unexpected. The cover screws on smoothly and tight, with a removable silicone gasket sealing the deal waterproof, and as well, a spare one in the kit.Apparently, the insulated version of this is only $1 more, and if all is equal to what I've got quality-wise, I would be very happy. Also, at 34 oz, it holds 1 liter, being 2 oz over a quart, also being very convenient. For as light as it is, it is solid and would take quite a hit to put a dent in it.

BEST WATER BOTTLE EVER SO GREATFUL FOR GOOD DESIGN
BEST WATER BOTTLE EVER, FINALLY.I have bought SO many water bottles, returned so many, and had so many malfunction or have their lids break. It seems like each one has different issues. This water bottle has the best design because it's so SIMPLE—and that’s the key with water bottle design, I’ve found. It also has the least plastic parts of any bottle out there. There’s only a small but easy-to-replace seal, and even the design of that is really, really good compared to others that easily collect and grow mold. I’m not sure if the seal is silicone, but I hope so—that would probably be ideal. They even send an extra replacement seal, which is a big deal in case the original one ever gets mold embedded in it (which can happen sometimes no matter how careful you are). That kind of detail just shows they actually thought things through. It’s also so light, even though it has insulation that actually keeps my water cold for 24 hours, easy. That’s a big deal, as most insulation makes bottles significantly heavier. The handle and lid are completely stainless steel, which is a huge deal because plastic lids just aren’t good. I’ve always found the screw-on cap to be the most foolproof, and the seal design is so good it never leaks if you screw it properly. The threads on the bottle are also really well designed—wide and easy to screw on properly.I really just want them to keep making larger sizes of these containers—all the way up to a half gallon, a gallon, even a 5-gallon version for trips. I also hope they innovate with square or rectangular fully stainless steel bottles to take in the car, to prevent them from rolling around and to improve packing efficiency, while keeping their 100% stainless steel ethos down to the carrying arm or handle.Good job with the matte finish on the exterior too—it keeps it from slipping from your hand. I honestly can’t say how grateful I am to have finally found the perfect water bottle... minus the fact that they don’t sell larger sizes for long whole-day hikes or car and camping trips.

My favorite, it's easy.
(26 oz) This is my favorite water bottle I've ever had. No fancy frills that make it hard to clean. It DOESN'T leak!! It has a silicone ring to vacuum seal it, functional as advertised. It keeps my water very cold even on long hikes. I do add a little ice but it lasted about 5 hours when my partners water was warm.It holds my water when the cat knocks it over every day.It carries a comfortable quantity of water yet is slim enough to fit in my backpack side pocket, car cup holder, and the handle is great for walking. The screw cap and silicone seal come apart to clean easily, although you will need a bottle brush to clean the barrel thoroughly. So far I've only cleaned it one time in the 3 months I've had it (only used with filtered water) and it still looks and smells super clean.I haven't seen any rust.It is a very fair price.

Good, But Not Good Vacuum
Good all around nearly total stainless water container. However, I don't think the vacuum seal is there. These usually have a glue on button covering the bottom, as this does, but I think there may be a vacuum leak there. It doesn't really maintain tap cold or ice cold when I put ice in it. I have a stainless vacuum mug bought here on Amazon, with a plastic lid and a seal at the bottom that really does a good job of maintaining temps even in a car parked in the sun. This doesn't, but for the price, it is a decent nearly 100% (silicone gasket, and a spare, that's nice) stainless water jug for my short hikes.

Durable and easy to clean.
I'm reading a few reviews about the silicone seal. (?) It's easy to clean. Just remove it eash it.....and it fits back perfectly. I use a toothbrush to clean the indentation on it. Easy. This is my second time buying one. I lost the other one. I have one in both sizes and I've been using them for several years. Camping etc...dropped many times...no problem.Ultimately, It doesn't matter which water bottle you purchase, it will need to be cleaned. Odors will happen unless you take the time to clean them regularly.
