Purina Pro PlanAllergen Reducing, High Protein Cat Food, LIVECLEAR Chicken and Rice Formula - 7 lb. Bag

I've had plenty of cats and kittens on Purina Pro Plan Liveclear dry food. I've noticed that the adults and kittens love the kitten food more than the adult but it's also higher in calories and fats so adult cats really shouldn't be eating kitten food for an extended length of time unless your adult female is pregnant and/or nursing or if your veterinarian advises you to do so.Purina has many different dry food options including many different Purina Pro Plan sub-types and many of them are not of the same quality as others. Purina Pro Plan LiveClear is their highest grade dry good available with a veterinarian's prescription. It IS also the most expensive but because it's the only dry food I've ever found that ALL of my cats like, I'm willing to pay a little extra so that I don't have to get numerous different types of food for different cats.The LiveClear's claim to lower your cat's allergens is fairly new. I started seeing it within the last few years or so. Before that, they had the same food but it didn't have that claim. I've been using this food for 8 years and haven't ever had a cat that didn't like it. As far as the lower allergen claim goes, I don't notice a difference. It's hard to tell since my boyfriend has a pollen and grass allergy as well as a cat allergy so I don't know if we'd notice if there was a difference in the amount of allergens released in their saliva and dander.This Particular line of Purina's comes in a variety of flavor options. For the most part I get them the Chicken and Rice but I've also tried the Salmon and they seemed to be just as happy. I DID notice a difference in the size of the round pieces of dry food when comparing the chicken and salmon. The Chicken and Rice Adult dry food has round thicker pieces and the salmon flavor is round and almost flat. The size and weight of the bags are the same but the individual pieces are slightly different. I suppose it's possible that Purina is in the process of changing the size of all of the LiveClear food pieces and one of the bags I got was with their new size and the other bag was with their previous size. Both bags were fresh.If your cat has health problems that cause him/her to need dry food that s geared towards Kidney problems, urinary tract, sensitive stomach, etc. Purina Pro Plan also makes dry food for such health issues and they also have prescription food for specific health issues which you can ask your Veterinarian about.

I'm a firm believer in the Purina Pro Plan, I started out my Bengal baby Eden on the kitten formula for a yearBengals sometimes get problems with the eyes and the kitten formula is formulated with supplements for eye health. Then put Eden on the Purina Pro Plan Adult Hairball Management, Indoor Cat Food, Eden has never had any hairball problems. Eden had her 7th birthday March 21st, very high energy, never has had any health issues at all. Turning 7 years old, I knew it was time for the Senior 7+ formula. Purchased in May on Mother's Day, I started mixing the 2 formulas together, 1st dish Eden tried to pick out the new formula!With adding in a little more new formula each day. By the 1st of June, her fur was softer. By the end of June, her fur was so soft she feels like a mink. I also noticed that her eyes are brighter and at times she naps under the bed, before putting her on this Senior 7+ formula, she would dig at her ears after being under the bed, knew that is was dust causing the problem, Eden, no longer has any ear problems and she's napping under the bed more. I'm still mixing the 2 formulas together, as the food is expensive, but it's worth the money! She has about a cup left, but mostly gets the Senior 7+ formula, so she'll be totally on the Senior 7+ formula within a week. I'm just extremely overjoyed and amazed with the difference it has made in her overall health inside and outside. The reason I chose to raise Eden on the Purina Pro Plan is I raised my previous kitty on the Purina Pro Plan formula life plan from the day one, but not this EVERCLEAR just wasn't available yet.Madison had a long happy and healthy life. She passed away at home in her sleep at 18 years & 8 months old. Until her very last day, she never had any health problems. I know that Eden will probably be my last furry baby. So, Thank You Purina for researching and making the best cat food. Eden and I plan on having many more years together ;), ^^

I have severe cat allergies and never thought I could own one. This allows me to cuddle and kiss my cat with very minimal symptoms. I used to swell up and get hives and now the only time I have a reaction is if he scratches me. I can't recommend this enough

My two 9-year old cats who are usually fed Blue Buffalo dry food gobbled this up the first time I served it. I still had some of the previous dry food in stock so mixed it 50/50 after that first day. After 45 days we introduced my very-allergic (breaks into hives) boyfriend to the household. Six months later and we're still happily living together; he only occasionally gets a stuffy nose, or watery eyes if he smooshes his face into them. Trust the science!

This works. My grandson moved in with me—and my two cats. He had the sniffles all of the time; if one of the cats came too close, he had a sneezing fit. A month into changing over to this food, he is clear of all symptoms. Amazing! And yes, my cats love it, too.

Started feeding my 11.5 year-old cat LiveClear about two months ago. She had no issues transitioning to the food and seems to like it as much as any other dry food. She only has a couple of teeth due to her age, so I was concerned about transitioning from a wet food only diet to half dry. However, I just add some water to the bowl to soften the food and she's had zero issues; she cleans her bowl dry every morning. So far, we've had success in reducing major allergies with her only eating the food once per day with minimal flare-ups in our allergic person. I think my cat prefers the salmon recipe over the chicken so far. Would love to see a wet food version in the future.

This food is amazing, I notice the difference when we feed my car any other food. I have pretty severe allergies to cats and get hives easily but this food (in conjunction with allergy immunotherapy) allows me to live happily with my cat.
