A good buy
I purchased this adapter because it was the only one sold on a major photo equipment website, and had good reviews there. So far it works as advertised and was simple to attach.Aperture on my FD lens is easy to set, it changes the light amount live as you look through your viewfinder. After that you just manually focus. No biggie.I don't plan on pulling out the glass for macro, as others have reviewed there is no indication of exactly where it's supposed to be set.For the price + some cheap used glass off ebay, this product was a good choice.I'm dropping a star because it didn't come with instructions, though attaching it is not hard at all to figure out.

It works well with various canon FD lenses.
I was able to recapture the use of several telephoto lenses.By using the magnification feature on the T5i you are able to focus the older lenses very well.

Yes...if you are willing to make some compromises
TLDR: It's good for light use, not so much for rugged use.I've had this adapter for about four years and it finally broke a month ago.Would I recommend it? Yes....but with some caveats. If you're doing a lot of outdoor photography where you're running around, hiking, and swapping out lenses every fifteen seconds or so, I would seriously reconsider either getting a different adapter, or getting one adapter for each FD lens you have (considering you have more than one). Once the adapter is securely attached to the lens, getting the whole thing attached to the camera is no problem. However, if you are trying to get this adapter off of one lens and on to another, it is a huge pain in the ass. It has a locking mechanism which is very difficult to use and the only way to tell it's locked is if you look through your viewfinder and change the aperture. And if it's set to lock, you won't be able to put another lens on it. This means that if you're trying to swap out lenses quickly to get a different shot, you're wasting tons of time just getting it on the lens and you will probably miss your shot. If you have one for each lens already on it (and you should since they're so cheap) it's totally fine. Just keep that in mind. Will this deteriorate the picture quality? Of course, this is a 30 dollar adapter. My FD lens was already pretty soft since it was an old lens, and this adapter makes it worse. I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way, but it won't give you that ultra-sharp quality that you'll get with a new lens. However, it does the job, and if you know how to shoot manual you can adjust your settings to minimize the softness. Still, it gives off a sort of soft, vintage tone which is nice in it's own way, just keep that in mind when purchasing.Long story short, if you just need something that will work, this does the job fine. However, if you're trying to get the most out of your FD lenses, I would get something a bit higher quality. It can also be time consuming to get it on the lens so keep that in mind. All things considered, I've had this adapter for four years until it finally broke (completely unusable) but in that time I beat the crap out of it and it has served me very well (albeit being a bit frustrating at times).

not worth it
I was hoping this would allow me to some of my old FD lenses in my rebel but to no avail. the quality is not there for what it is worth. should have bought a Lomo lens instead. Its made very well but its jsut not worth the money and effort.
