AUTHENTIC KAMERAR QV-1 LCD VIEWFINDER VIEW FINDER FOR CANON 5D MKIII 6D 7D 60D

I don't often write reviews for items i buy, but this view finder DESERVES one. I wear glasses all the time so filming on my Canon 70D is very difficult. To solve lighting and focusing issues with my footage, i decided to try this viewfinder after reading reviews and checking out something similar at school (the Canon XC10 with an attachable Canon view finder). I must say, this view finder works even better. Here's why.The rubber eye piece is quite large, but in a GOOD way. I can fit the entire right lens of my glasses into the eye piece with some room to spare, which is great for people with larger framed glasses. Even with my glasses on, the viewfinder blocks out the sun and i can see clearly with absolutely no problem. Before, i was primarily relying on auto-focus for my video footage but now, manual focusing is a breeze. To me, this is a miracle.One thing i was worried about was the box of the viewfinder scratching the LCD screen on my camera. I was very relieved to see that Kamerar kept this in mind for the design. The edge of the viewfinder box which makes contact with your LCD screen is rubber so there is no need to worry about scratching your screen.The only draw back is that the viewfinder does not pivot. It only has one position so you often have to bend down to look through your camera. Not too big of a deal really.The construction is very durable and is not made of cheap, flimsy plastic. I really like the magnetic release, which is surprisingly strong, so no need to worry about anything becoming loose or coming apart while shooting. It is very easy to adjust and position over your LCD screen, which can be done with adjusting three screws with an allen wrench (included).And the price. Wow. If i knew how well this view finder worked, I would've paid twice as much. If i break it somehow, im buying another.

This product is well made. The objective lens is clear and sharp. It has perfect magnification allowing you to see the screen large and clear. If you shoot video, this is a perfect eyepiece. If you shoot stills in low light like at a wedding reception, stop struggling to compose through a dark viewfinder. Set your camera to live view mode and use this instead.

This works very well when I am videoing surfing outside, especially when sunny. It allows me to see the lcd screen well and track my subject well. It also allows a additional point of contact which helps with holding the camera steady, off and on the tripod. It does distort the focus on the screen, but if you trust your auto focus it's not a big deal for sports anyway. The diopter adjustment is useless. I can wear sunglasses while using it. the interface is a bit rough, not really well machined, but does the job. I have seen similar items for up to $400.

So I just got this today and it rocks! I've used multiple view finders in the past including expensive Zacuto and Varavon options. I've also tried cheaper versions that I just had to send back. This one is perfect though. I use it on three different camera models and it adjusts perfectly. This is the most solid and smart built viewfinder out there.

Although this product is well-made, the magnetic clip that holds it to the baseplate has a flawed design. The magnet is too strong and there is insufficient travel downwards for the upper edge of the unit not to push on the viewfinder of a Sony a6300. This will activate the Sony viewfinder and black out the viewing screen. Obviously, the QV-1 is unusable on a Sony with an APS-C sensor. This was not consistent with the product description.

Fits well on a Canon 5DS/MKIII, and does a decent job of magnifying the LCD screen. The "focus" ring does not seem to focus whatsoever however, and you definitely need to adjust the brightness of the LCD screen in the Menu, as I find this viewfinder makes things appear dimmer than they actually are.

Bought this for my new Panasonic FZ80. Works well but I also had to buy a bottom plate adapter to make it work. This shades the rear screen and multiplies the image 2x. It's big but it's great for working outside in the bright light.

I am very happy with this finder. It was built better than I expected. It stays put on the camera, yet comes off easily, due to the powerful magnet at the base. It allows me to use my SLR as a video recorder even in bright sunshine. I recommend it.
