TimexMarathon by Timex Unisex TW5K84800 Digital Mid-Size Black/Blue Resin Strap Watch

This is my second one of these. My previous one - same colors, etc. -- was the "old model" (the 1440) -- basically, the same watch, same functions, but the buttons on this one are just a bit bigger, so that's a nice change.My first one lasted almost 4 years, which is AMAZING given the price (only a couple dollars less than I paid for this one). I've had much pricier watches that didn't last nearly as long. So I didn't hesitate at all to order another one of the same (or almost the same) model.It's not difficult to set up as long as you follow the directions. The instructions are printed on very thin paper in very tiny print in a bunch of languages, so I needed reading glasses to decipher it, but really, it's not difficult to get this up and running with the date/time set properly. I generally don't use all of the more advanced features (alarm, stopwatch) but I do use the second time zone -- I have family overseas, so I like to keep track of the local time where they're located.It is water resistant. I shower with it on and have never had problems with it. The size is perfect, too, and the "Indiglo" light feature is wonderful at night.Really, I can't find anything negative so say about it. Extremely well made, at a super price point, reliable, nice looking -- definitely one of the best casual watch values around, in my opinion. Solid 5-stars.

My wife had another one of these, but the band broke, and the bands are nearly impossible to find. So I hunted down this exact replacement. (I did finally find a band, but this was cheaper - go figure...)She loves the looks, the easy reading, and the ruggedness for a weekend/workout watch. The layout of the dial/display is better on this version than the newer models, so I see why she likes it. And she loves fuschia...

I bought this for a friend’s daughter when we were visiting them. Timex watches are always good to use.What I like about this watch:1. The watch is sturdy, accurate and not very expensive.2. I guess the battery runs a long time on this watch3. Indiglo is one of my favorite feature on Ironman watches.4. It is water resistant and you can dip it in a glass of water or wash hands or swim wearing it.5. It seems very complex when you start using it but once you get hang of it, its breeze to set alarms, timers and stopwatch.6. This one is very lightweight as well.7. INSTRUCTIUONS INCLUDED: A few people mentioned that this came without instructions. Mine did come with detailed instructions (see picture). Sometimes its tucked under the “stand” on which the watch is mounted.What I dislike about this watch:1. The volume of chime and the alarm is too low. A little louder would have been helpful.2. The strap is too long for mid-size watch.3. The biggest problem with this and other Timex watches is that the strap is very weak and breaks in a few months. Availability of replacement straps is highly desirable.

This is my second timex watch. It’s so cheap but it’s lasted five years with heavy and frequent hand washing, getting very dirty, and kept up with a busy nurse. It does basic functions well, timer, alarm, two time zones. But all I use it for is the time and occasionally timer.It lasted five years, and that’s with frequent heavy duty cleaning at the end of shift. I’m pretty sure that’s what did the band in at the end, but the watch itself still works.I wish they had an easily replaceable band, but at this price point, that limitation doesn’t subtract from what you get.If you need a sturdy, easily cleaned, water resistant watch that will take some fairly heavy abuse, this is your watch.

Love the actual watch. The band us poor quality and broke after a month of use. The part where the pin is located is where the band actually split and finding a replacement band cost as much as the watch.

the watch holds up against everything. I go in pools and bump it against things a lot and it never fails. 4 years and still going strong!

My son has been ordering the Timex 1440 for the past many years. It has been a great watch. The bands tend to wear out in about two years of constant and hard use. I was fine with that. It is an affordable watch and we've replaced the batteries, but never had a watch fail (only the band, which is not replaceable). This newer model looks exactly the same as the older 1440 and has all the features, EXCEPT the countdown timer, which was a must for him. It still has all the other features, but he was really used to the countdown timer, so we ended up sending this back and buying one that was fancier (which he didn't really want/need), larger and, of course, more expensive. I'm really disappointed that Timex chose to take the countdown timer off of this watch. If all you need is a watch with an alarm and stopwatch (and indiglo), this one works well. Great watch. The pink isn't overwhelming. The watch face is a good size without looking manly and has smooth edges. The #'s are large enough to easily read. It's not cumbersome to set up. I haven't dunked it in water yet.

Bought for my 6 year old, as he was jealous of his older sister's watch.Fits just fine for his wrist with room to grow. He's swam and showered with it without issues. No complaints about discomfort thus far.Longevity, I cannot comment on yet. Seems well made, but time will tell.
