not a durable item but for emergencies
since these wont be used unless its raining, i am not worried about the material lasting forever. these are not the kind of item to last years when used daily but they will be fine when used in the car for rain and can be used in the winter for wind protection and heat retention. they fit just fine as well over regular clothing so you dont need to take off clothes to wear this over it. AFTER SOME USAGE THE JACKET IS STILL IN TACT AND DOES ITS JOB, BUT THE PANTS HAVE NEARLY SPLIT IN TWO FROM JUST ONE OR TWO TIMES OF BENDING TO PICK UP SOMETHING FROM THE GROUND. THEY ARE STILL USABLE IN KEEPING THE LEGS DRY FOR NOW, BUT IT WONT BE LONG BEFORE THEY SPLIT COMPLETELY AND ARE NO LONGER DOING THEIR JOB. THEY ARE A CHEAP ITEM FOR AN EMERGENCY BUT DONT COUNT ON ANY LONG TERM USAGE.

Simply the best value available in waterproof gear. Skeptical? Don't be. See below.
15 years ago on a fishing/camping trip to remote Canada a good friend brought the first Frog Toggs I ever saw. Frankly we filleted and fried him over this "paper" rain gear for a week in remote Canada. She time this week it WILL rain on us out in the boat and at camp. "yer gonna get wet Jerry you cheap cuss". Swell let it suffice to say he did NOT get wet. He stayed perfectly dry. Just as dry as those of us in $350 worth of GoreTex. Remember ladies, these cost $20 for the set (Jacket & Pant) So naturally I needed a set & have had one inhan ever since.Any drawbacks/negatives ?: Yes a few. The material is NOT Tyvek, like so many have said. It feels like Tyvek in that its is like a paper permeated with something. Its a non-woven product like Tyvek. Its a little stiff when you first get it. When it wears in its less stiff & less so when in the rain. Does it work? Yes it works as well as super expensive stuff. It just says something goofy in it instead of Patagonia, North Face or Orris. And you won't be as stylish as this other apes. They also are a but more fragile. Jerry tore the arm on a sharp branch getting out of the boat. Honestly that may have occurred no matter what jacket he had one. Who knows. But frankly I've torn just about every expensive rain suit I have bought over the years. Lots of stuff to snag camping & fishing for a week. Remember this cost $20!Positives: They are $20 for a set gang. OK if you trash them the first year, but you probably won't. Maybe keep your GoreTex cause it may be more comfortable, but have a set of these too. I am 5'11" - 175 pounds and medium fits perfectly over normal amount of cloths. If you will be wearing it over other semi heavy cloths, get a size bigger. Otherwise they run a bit on the large size assuming it is over other cloths. Buy a pair a full size larger to wear over heavy winter cloths. But remember they are a bit more fragile than some other waterproof gear. But you know not as fragile as you'd think. They actually seem to wear well in the seat and knees. This Tyvek like BREATHABLE stuff is pretty tough. Tougher than you think it will be.

Very lightweight and keep you dry, but....
This is a great travel rain suit. While it does keep the wearer dry the item does cause build up of moisture in hot humid conditions. Additionally the material is extremely thin and subject to potential ripping. As a throw away it is fine. As a durable, many use item I would suggest having plenty of time and notice to carefully pit the suit on and then take off. Usually getting caught in unexpected downbursts and storms creates a "need for speed" dressing condition. Buy but understand the item you are buying and then you won't have unfulfilled expectations.

Pants tore at seam even before I went outside in the rain!!
I walk 4 miles daily, rain or shine. I purchased this a month ago. Today was a typical rainy day in early April so I decided to put the two piece suit on for my daily walk. I purchased the large size. I am trim, at 6'2" and 188 lbs. I had to take the trash out from the garage and just partially bent over to pick up bags of shredded paper for disposal and I heard the split at the seam at the seat of the pants. Please see attached photo. I could not believe it. This thing was put together with scotch tape and that is too complimentary.Since I had the suit on I decided to give it a test drive none the less. I am a fair person. The suit kept me totally dry. The pants legs were long enough to prevent my jeans underneath from getting soaked. Most of the time I walked with the head covering untied. It does get warm. Today was about 55 degrees and I had a light jacket on underneath the rain jacket. It was comfortable.Although the suit did what it was supposed to do, the tear in the pants on the FIRST day of use is totally unacceptable. It is past the 30 day period for return but I have been a customer of Amazon since 2002 and will probably get some dispensation. This rain suit is a piece of garbage. I highly recommend that you do not purchase and look elsewhere. If I could give it a rating less than "one", like minus 10, I would have.

Decent lightweight rain jacket, pants are a different story
I needed a lightweight and packable rain suit for my job doing parcel delivery. Overall, I think the product is decent, and works as advertised. The prose for me are that the jacket has proven in a year's worth of use to be reasonably durable and extremely lightweight and packable. The pants have been a different story for me, as before purchase I had read reviews that the pants would split down the crotch seam from just general use. I decided to go ahead with the purchase and make up my own mind, and initially everything seemed to work well enough, but after about four uses, and trying to be reasonably gentle with the use of the pants, the seam of mine split just like everyone else's showing this that the manufacturing process for the pants at least seem to have an issue that leaves a lot to be desired with regards to durability. I still use the jacket, but the pants weren't worth salvaging so those got thrown in the trash. I'd like to see better design for the pants to ensure their durability and wouldn't mind a means to allow the bottom of the pants to be cuffed or at least form fitted around the ankles or over A rain boot to keep them from being so loose.
