Fresh Nuts 2 pack (Black Walnuts 64 ounces)

Great buy. Shipped vacumn sealed. They were fresh and had a good flavor. Black Walnuts are typically very pricey but due to the more reasonable price I have been able to bake a lot of wonderful goodies.

Great flavor and very fresh. Vaccuum packaging is wonderful. Looking forwad to some great baking.

My most frequently requested kitchen creation is Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Black Walnut Cookies. I average a dozen batches per year. At supermarket prices of $3.85 per 1/2 Cup, these would be out of site for the average home baker like myself. But by buying in bulk and freezing them, wrapped in two zip lock bags to assure freshness, I can make these delicious cookies anytime without blowing my budget. Try them in cupcakes, too. these nuts taste freshly hulled and arrive in a couple of days. The nuts are excellent, the price is great!

I grew up in Pennsylvania where we had several walnut trees on the farm. Every year we picked them, removed the outer husk, dried them, and cracked them with a hammer. All this took a significant amount of effort, but it was worth it to have the nuts.I read the reviews by earlier purchasers, and was slightly concerned about the freshness and quality, but decided to try them.I was delighted by the product, including the freshness and quality. The pieces were uniform in size, just perfect for immediate use with my cookie recipes. I tasted the nuts fresh, and they are very flavorful. They are distinctly the full black walnut flavor, and they are not too strong.I am very pleased with the purchase, and recommend it to others.

I disslike putting out a bad review. In this case, the staleness and tastlessness of these nuts is so bad, I guess they are at least 2 years old. I recommend against the purchase as they are not returnable...how convieneant for them.

Nuts were fresh and flavorful

My family has a long history of gathering, storing, and processing black walnuts. The flavor is much more intense and unique from the standard fair you might find at the grocery store.When I opened the package they were shipped in the smell of black walnuts was intense, at first I was worried one of the packages was open. But everything was vacuum sealed tight. I gave one away as a gift, and the other I used for banana nut bread.I absolutely loved them, fresh black walnuts sold commercially are hard to come by, and I will be ordering again.

I have bought these black walnuts for several years. They take me back to when I was a kid. We had trees on our property and I can remember gathering them and Dad putting them on top of a metal shed until the outer shell turned black and soft. Mom and my sister and I had new brown jersey gloves and rubbed the soft hull off. The gloves kept your hands from getting scraped, but you still got black hands which were bleached afterwards. After the inside shells dried, Dad cracked them and we all sat around the table picking the meats out and poking a few spots in our hands. The flavor of these may not be quite as strong as those, but I haven’t used them in anything people didn’t like and they new what kind of nuts I used.
