top five inches very soft, you get that sink in feeling.under layer of foam has good support.shipping was very good. large heavy items like this always distort cardboard shipping containers. bed was vacuum sealed in TWO separate plastics for protection!seller answered questions and responded to emails before i even bought the bed!this bed has NO SMELL like other "imported" memory foam.Bed is tagged "made in the USA"Seller offers 60day return policy, cant beat that!gladly buy from again. 5 stars!EDIT:10 months in to the purchase, and i have to say this bed is awesome!it still holds the form perfect. There are no dents and divots from where i or my fiance, or my 6 dogs lay ( they are small dogs lol)this was probably the best purchase i made for my money. Even if the bed lasts only 1 year, at this price, its worth it. But so far it seems that it will last a lot longer. A great feature of this mattress was that the foam itself comes zippered into a very tight casing. So your sheets dont actually touch the foam at all. it touches the fabric casing. Which, can be unzipped and washed for whatever reason you need to. It is a bit tight getting it back on, but you still have the option to remove and wash if needed..EDIT:1 year 6 months ownership, and i have to say, this bed is still awesome.No sag marks, still just as soft as when purchased.had to remove the zippered cover on the mattress to wash the cover, thanks to my over active bichons and their over active bladder. after wash, the cover zipped right back on. with a little work of course because the cover fits so tightly.i laugh every time my friend tells me he spent $3000 on a tem******* and his bed is half the size as mine and i only paid $500 lol...

I love it. You will need to update your box spring.
This mattress is not rock hard, but it very supportive. I went from a plush pillow top which hurt my back, to this firm memory foam mattress and had no back pain the morning after I slept on it. If you want a harder mattress this company sells a 5lb dense memory foam mattress which is probably harder than this one. I will update this if it shows signs of sagging or wear after using it for a while. I did update my box spring a lot before laying this mattress on it. I added wood to the box spring so there was only two inches between each upper slat so it could support the mattress better, which made a huge difference.

Ok, but you get what you pay for
Started sagging after 4 mos. Still usable, but I'll be replacing it within a few months with something longer-lasting. While it might not visually show dramatically, it can be felt very easily. It's a challenge to sleep near the edge of the mattress without rolling back into the middle/sag. If I could, I'd give it 3.5 stars because it's better than 3.UPDATE: A year later and it's now unusable. Tired of waking up with a sore back and numb arms. Pitiful when an 8yo recliner is more comfortable than a year old mattress. It's headed to the landfill.

Unfurled it at noon, was snuggled up in it by 9pm. I slept great, it's only been one night so I'll update later but so far I really like it, and no smell like some folks reported.Great packaging also, they cram a lot in a relatively small box!

When your use to sleeping on a spring mattress, it take a couple of day to get use to a memory foam mattress, sink in feeling . After a week we got use to it , 3 stars for right now

Love it
We removed the old mattress put it in the back of the truck to take to the dump. Unwrapped the new mattress and by the time we got home from the dump it had expanded, no smells, no fuss no muss. Neither me or my husband had any problem getting used to a foam mattress it was love the first night.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think such an inexpensive mattress be so good. I am sleeping better than than I have in 20 years. Perfect firmness and give.... (it is firm)

Very comfortable
We purchased this several months ago. It is very comfortable. The only complaint I have is it took several weeks for the odor of glue to disappear. It was strong at first. I had to open windows for days and turn fans on together with Febreeze to try and get rid of strong glue smell. I'm thinking they made it the day I ordered it. I'd rather it sit at manufacturer until odor dissipates before they ship out. Perhaps you can make arrangements, if you contact them.
