Portable Fun and Safe Rechargeable Night Light, Quarter Moon

I am really happy with the night light and am glad I spend a few bucks more on this "mobile" one instead of buying one of the regular power outlet ones.It was all the positive reviews that made my decision.Our 4 year old stopped sleeping through the night, claiming he was afraid of the dark. He wants to have his bedroom door open and one night I found him fast asleep in his bed, but he had turned the light on his nightstand back on, which is a pretty bright light. That's when we decided it is time for a night light.After reading all the positive reviews about this one I bought it for him. Despite the positive feedback, I laughed a little at the advertisement picture showing a kid, sound asleep in his bed with this night light clutched in his hand. I thought it was unrealistic. I was wrong. Our little one sleeps with it exactly like that.Since this is not a stationery night light, that just sits on an outlet, he is playing with it a lot. I expected that it would be like giving him a toy to play with in bed and he would never fall asleep now, but I was wrong. He plays with it for a little while and then falls asleep. He likes that he can use it to look around the room. It is not as bright as a flashlight, but bright enough (at least in the blue or green color) that it makes him feel in control and secure.He loves the first setting that changes colors all the time and he apparently has no problem sleeping with the light directly next to his head on his pillow. It would drive me crazy but he sleeps a lot better now. He was upset the first few nights when he woke up and found the light had turned of (by default, it turns itself off after 30 minutes). I showed him how to change it so it stays on all night. It is his night light, and if he sleeps better knowing the light will still be one when he wakes up in the middle of the night, so be it.You have to remember to place the thing back on it's charger in the morning, or it won't last very long. It doesn't look like you can exchange the batteries, so the charging station is the only way to get it to light up again. However, the light works while it is _on_ the charger as well. So just place it on the night stand and the night light can double as a stationery night light in case the batteries are empty.So far the thing has been pretty robust, but nothing bad has happened to the light or the charging station yet (no drops and nobody has stepped on it yet).So I cannot make a statement about how easy this would break.But we are all really happy with the purchase.

The Kinderglo Portable Fun and Safe Rechargeable Night Light, Quarter Moon has been a good product. We have had this night light for our son for the past 18 months. We use it every night. I feel like it make a nice glow in the room that promotes calm feeling conducive to a good nights rest.The light has several colors to choose from however we usually use blue because that tends to light the room up just right. I love the handle and it is really easy to grab and take around the house when needed. Its cute and fits any room decor. The light lasts all night off the base. Now I have given you the good let me give you the bad.Even though the battery lasts a long time. It take all day to charge to full. Which isn't a big deal since it's the day and our sons room has enough light during his naps. However if you ever forget to charge it, don't expect a quick charge.The base is annoying! It is the worst part of this product. When it is plugged in it make a high pitched noise that once you notice it can be awful and painful. When you want the moon on and siting on the base at the same time there is a weird flicker to the light that is annoying. Also when you turn off the moon and you try to place it back on the base for some reason it can turn the light back on. So you have to take it off and click the button several time till it turns off again then carefully put it back on the base in hopes it doesn't do it again.Now even with these problems I am still glad we got it. Maybe my base just sucks and others are better. Now one last thing is something I wish it did. Besides making the base less buggy is there is a feature that transitions between all the colors. This is fun but I wish you could pick some of the color tones that happen in those transitions. So I wish there was a dial that you could fine tune your own color. Just a thought.So in conclusion you should get this product your kids will love it!

***UPDATE*** Don't buy this product!!!!I first got this for my daughter and it was fabulous and she fell in love with it. Then it stopped working after about 3 months. It wouldn't charge. So I sent it back and got another. Within 2 months that one stopped working too. SO DISAPPOINTING. It's such a great idea but just doesn't work.I LOVE this nightlight!! I bought it a few months ago for my 2 1/2 year old daughter for transitioning into a new bedroom. I chose the moon because of the handle. She can easily carry it to the bathroom. She sleeps with it in her bed. It does not get at all warm and while it is plastic she doesn't mind sleeping on it. She loves that she can control the color of the light and even turn it off herself. The on/off/color button is small but not difficult to find or use even for an adult. It does have to sit on the charger right or it won't charge but it does seem to hold a charge for a long time.Great alternative to a wall light!

I purchased this for my child after seeing some other LED night lights around and I have to say, this is wonderful! The autoshut off is great and being able to choose a constant color is also a nice touch...I prefer the blue color. My son loves to carry it around and wants it in the crib with him at night. I like that he can do that without it being a safety hazard. It does sit "lightly" on the base...neither pro nor con for me, just an observation. The only thing that could be better is the button to turn it on is located at the bottom of the moon and is rather small. Not really geared toward small, uncoordinated hands. Other than that, it is a lovely design...fun and functional. Very happy with this purchase.10-30-12 Had the nightlight for a month. It stopped working. BOO!!! Amazon has refunded my money and debating whether to purchase another as I am not into products that don't last at least a little while. I didn't expect it to last forever, but one month is not enough. Have update my rating to two stars, because it is at least two stars worth of cute.
