This is the best product for dry or frizzy hair. Does not leave any oily residue. The sprayer is easy to push. Has a very pleasant coconut smell. Leaves hair soft and manageable. Works right away. My hair was breaking off at the roots before using this hair defrizzer and heat protection. It took about 20 days to show some results for me. No more brittle hair due to using this product. I used this Defrizzing spray in combination with "Desert Essence Coconut Shine & Refine Hair Lotion". Works better than some more expensive products. Great value. I would give it higher than a 5-star if I could.

I have been looking for a product to put on dry hair to keep frizz down, and up until this point, I have not been able to find anything that really worked without weighing it down or looking oily. But, Desert Essence does a fantastic job! It's lightweight, doesn't look oily and keeps frizz at a minimum. It has a soft pleasing scent as well. I would recommend this product.

I only use like 3-4 sprays in my wet hair and when I wake up in the morning my hair is super soft and shiny. I also only use it on the length so it doesn't make my roots oily. I think it smells pretty good - like coconuts and natural oils. The scent doesn't really last on my hair though. I also like that this protects against heat damage. I straighten my hair 5/7 days per week, so this is huge for me. It's also vegan which is a must. Overall I really like it!

PURPOSE: I found it pretty useless has a heat protector, but it does work fabulously as a silicone-free defrizzer. I've bought my second bottle and still continue to use it daily - especially in the winter. I also use it as a light hairspray for my fine, long hair. I am grateful this works for that, since I only co-wash and avoid products that require sulfates to strip.SCENT: Regarding the smell: The smell itself is fine (sweet coconut). But beware, you can FEEL the smell -- it is very sharp and will sting your nose with each spray. I've learned to hold my breath when spraying.PRODUCT WASTE: The mist is very fine, so there can be a lot of product waste when spraying from far away. For my hair, it seems to work best when I spray close (3 inches or so away) while moving downward to ensure even distribution.METHOD: (For fine, thin, long, sometimes sparse hair) When using it as a hair moisturizer/defrizzer, I've found it works best on wet hair but is perfectly fine on dry hair. I make sure to avoid my roots, and to brush (when wet) or finger-spiral my hair in sections (when dry) after each spray to ensure even distribution. I also make sure to "moisturize" my hair beforehand, either with leave-in conditioner or oils, and lightly seal it with this spray to protect against the outside forces from sucking my hair dry.

This wks great on dry frizzy hair for after showers

This would be a decent defrizzer for people with just mild flyaways and frizziness. It did not work for my wavy, thick, very frizzy hair. As a heat protectant, it was okay. It made my hair feel softer after heat styling, but I had to spray a whole bunch of it, so the bottle didn't last long. The scent is nice and coconutty but doesn't last very long.I ended up only using it when I air-dried my hair. It didnt prevent much frizz, but it made the bottom half of my hair softer.I personally won't be purchasing again but if your frizziness isn't extreme like mine then it's probably a good value for the price (Mine was only $3).

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This product worked fine but it DEFINITELY did not smell like coconut. I wanted the coconut scent from the shampoo and conditioner (which are great) but the heat protection spray did NOT smell good. I couldn’t use it after a few uses because the smell was so displeasing to me. I’m not sure about others, but I won’t be buying this again.
