Hilariously entertaining
A manor by any other name is a farm, an unfortunate truth that Izzie learns quickly after being dropped off at Glory Manor. Between Buttercup the cow wandering through the house, a hen named Elmer that likes to peck at Izzie’s ankles, goats eating the laundry, and an apparently-confused but endearing Uncle Amos who chases people with a rifle and accuses them of being chicken murderers, this heiress hiding out as a housekeeper (without a clue how to even boil water) is smack in the middle of what I can only describe as my worst nightmare – but hilarious when happening to someone else.Which means I laughed pretty much from start to finish, sweet message and heartwarmingly tender scenes notwithstanding. The adorable orphans (especially precious Daisy), Aunt Birdie, and Uncle Amos were the perfect supporting characters for this special brand of Turano-orchestrated mayhem. And when I wasn’t laughing, I was swooning over Ian who is my favorite Jen Turano hero – not the least of which reason is because he considers himself smitten with the written word.Bottom Line: Flights of Fancy gave In Good Company some close competition for the position of my fave Jen Turano novel. In the end, Millie Longfellow & In Good Company did just edge it out to retain the title, but it was a tight race. Endearing characters, swoony romance and madcap hilarity share the page with a touching reminder that one can be rich in many things besides money – and poor in many things even with great monetary wealth.(I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I purchased for my own collection.)

Sweet and funny American Heiress Historical Romance! Loved this new series!
Omg!! I love Jen Turano's stories!!They are so sweet and funny, the characters are so endearing, and the plot has unique twists that keep me captivated from page one! That's what happened when I first read "A Change of Fortune" and there hasn't been a book of hers that has ever disappointed me!Well "Flights of Fancy" was no exception! This is a new series that I'm already hooked with!Isadora "Izzie" Delafield is an American Heiress whose mother is forcing to wed into an arranged marriage to an older earl.Izzie is aghast and in her desperation, decides to flee and search for a new life where she can choose whom to give her heart to...Ian MacKenzie is young businessman trying to make his way in society and business. Things are going mighty well, until he meets Isadora, just when his adopted parents are in need of a housekeeper and she is looking for a job. He never expects Izzie to turn his life upside down on the farm or to be charmed by her innocent and straightforwardness. It's a delightful story: mix in a runaway heiress, a no nonsense businessman, a farm with animals and four adorable children, and you got a story that will make you laugh and cry at the same time!Izzie and Ian captured my heart! I hope they capture yours too! I promise you won't regret reading this story and find yourself wanting more of these characters! The romance is sweet and clean, and so tender! And the plot was original too! Kept me engaged from page one!!I totally recommend it to Historical Romance lovers who like sweet stories with some humor in them!

What An Enjoyable Novel!
This is a Victorian, fiction, a clean entertaining novel that will keep you glued to the story throughout the book. Miss Isadora escapes from her parent' house to the Southern States in America because her Mother wanted her to marry a much older, wealthy man with a title. Isadora has a title and wealth of her own but keeps it a secret as she applies for a job as a maid at a remote farm house that has all kinds of farm animals. (Isadora knows nothing about animals)This is a good read, it's a wonderful Victorian comedy, ending with surprises, and an interesting love story. Ian, a grown son, lives with his Mother, Father and his Grandfather who adores the animals on numerous acres of land. Be sure to read this story, it's an outstanding, fast paced, a very funny, enjoyable novel. I was thoroughly entertained. I have never read any books by this author before. I don't usually read comedy at all but I was pleasantly surprised when reading this. It made me laugh out loud and I was glad I picked up this book. I recommend his book to everyone.

what a wonderful book!
Like? Everything? Dislike? Nothing! What a great story! I don’t want to give too much away, but Isabel, needing to escape a horrid Duke who was intent on marrying her, runs away and becomes a housekeeper of sorts, having never done any housework or cooking. Hilarious at times, sweet at times, sad at times, all wrapped up in a happy bow. Get this book any way you can and read it at once. I’m so glad that’s what I did. Oh, not any way. Don’t steal it.

Wonderful First Book Of A Series
I haven't read many, or perhaps any, other books by Jen Turano, but this one has definitely convinced me to add her to my list of favorite authors. I was pleasantly surprised by her skill as a writer, as well as her ability to add such humorous elements to the story. The book was enjoyable from beginning to end, even though I did find Isadora's mother to be insufferable throughout. She was the quintessential social climber who gave not a thought to her daughter's wishes in choosing a husband. Izzy's mad dash to freedom led her to a place she fell in love with, with interesting and lovable characters, adorable children, and a quantity of animals with rather unusual personalities. The only one that I felt needed a reality check was Buttercup...the cow. Anyone who has actually lived around cows, as I have and still do, cannot realistically accept the premise of letting a fully grown cow into the house.....ever. It just couldn't happen! That aside, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to others in this series.

Amazing!!!!
What an engaging story with characters that you can’t help but fall in love with! The journey of the main characters as they learn who God has called them to be is heart warming and a good reminder that not always the journey that we see as easy or what we want is the best for us. I couldn’t put this down and was up reading until late in the night! I couldn’t wait to find out what happened but was a little sad when it was all over. I can’t wait to read to read some more by Jen Turano.

A Fun and Engaging Adventure
Great fun to read and learn more about the late 1800s when industrialists were painted as the wonder boys! Unfortunately, many hard working men and children were taken advantage at the expense of furthering others'pockets.A look into common peoples' lives and struggles and what is truly important. Loved it!
