Simple and Accurate
Worked on my chipped cat as a test. I bought this because I have several strays coming around here and in hopes of getting close enough to them to bring them home. It does have a loud beep and you need to scan immediately. Overall, it's good enough to meet my needs.

I use these for wildlife research and they're a nice cheap alternative to the 500.00 USD scanners. Many of the reviews claiming tags can't be read are probably assuming these are universal scanners, they are not. They a specific frequency and many vet clinics use tags that are out of the frequency they use (many AVID brand chips for instance). For my scientists out there, these work great for most standard Biomark brand tags!

Doesn’t work
Scanner doesn’t work on my dog that has one. I got it due to so many loose dogs around my house. How am I gonna find who they belong to if this doesn’t work
