A good start
This wasn't as meaty as I thought it was going to be. There are great projects in it, for sure, but it's a very thin book. I was going to buy the spiralbound for double, glad I didn't. it's a great beginner's book with great ideas in it that you really can extrapolate on and spin off from. Also, how ironic is it that the Author's name is "HOOK". Definitely recommend, but I was hoping for more knots than was on offer. There's 20 projects, some of which are basically repeats, but he covers enough different techniques that it allows you to run with them and create your own fun and unique projects.

This will challenge your skill abilities.
Since I received this, I've perused it several time, and have to admit, that while the instructions are fairly good, it does appear to be difficult to be able to make most of the items without having 3 sets of hands. I'm one who doesn't like something to beat me, so I'll probably prevail and succeed in the end, and probably purchase some of the tools that are recommended in the book.I do wish that there was a chart that showed how much para-cord (lengthwise) is needed for different sizes of the projects, like bracelets, necklaces, key holders, lanyards, etc. I'd hate to waste paracord, by coming up short and having to re-evaluate what size I need, that find something to use the short piece for. If I over estimate the length, I end up with the same problem of having to cut off the extra, and hope it's lone enough to still be usable, instead of scrap.

Good project ideas, but more sparkle than content.
Pros: There is some interesting history and background information helpful to the novice. The projects are useful with nice color photos.Cons: Instructions are not very clear. Often, the author gives several instructions in the text while referring to only one picture, which can be rather confusing. Knot instruction illustrations are not in step-by-step form; rather, the knot is laid out and there are arrows drawn in the photo, which are difficult to follow. I found myself looking for online videos in order to tie the knots, then returning to the book to finish the project.Summary: This is a nice book to add to a paracord library if you can get it on sale, but not a good stand-alone project book for the beginner. Also a bit light-weight considering the $10 list price.

This is a great book for beginners wanting to get into the paracord ...
this book is very detailed with the information on how to create each project. The beginning of the book describes all of the tools you'll need as well. This is a great book for beginners wanting to get into the paracord wrapping. This book is wonderful on giving step by step directions, with lots of pictures to complete the task. Great for me just starting out, learning!

One of the best craft books yet!
Wonderful and easy-to-foow book on paracord that our 10 year old grandaon has used constantly to make really complicated duck call holders, bracelets and other paracord items. I have adults asking to buy his items and his friends want them, too!
