How many cups does this 7 oz jar make?

I am new to instant coffees. Tried a few and so far this is the best. I just ran some quick numbers this morning. I heat 8oz of water and use one heaping teaspoon of coffee. I averaged a few and they came out to about 5 grams each. The 7oz jar is 200 grams. That works out to about 40 8oz cups of strong coffee. Going price right now is $13.00. That means these cups are about 33 cents each. Not bad.

how do i get the best tasting cup out of this? i tried 10 oz 190 F water and 1 tbsp and it has a sour aftertaste

I would use definitely less coffee. For 10oz of water, 1 to 1.5 tea spoon of instant coffee. Temperature is fine.

What kind of coffee beans is this made from, Arabica or Robusta? you should state that on your bottle.

The label does not state Arabica, Robusta, or an equivalent. Douwe Egbert coffee is grown on the Republic of South Africa and now distributed from the Netherlands. The product and brand name originated 250 years ago from Boer settlers to South Africa.
