Delicious and enjoyable, even if you're not "into" fruitcakes
I gave this a try because I wanted to see if there was such a thing as a good fruitcake. I'm neither a fruitcake fan nor a fruitcake hater, but the few fruitcakes I've sampled over the years kind of made me get why they're the butt of so many jokes. This cake, I'm happy to say, changed my outlook. It was quite tasty, and my wife and I both enjoyed it. It wasn't overly dense and the flavor was good. Since we bought it for ourselves, we weren't too concerned with presentation, but it looked fine in that department as well. My only recommendation would be that if it's planned for a large gathering, you may want to have several, as they're a little on the small side for a party.

Incredibly Delicious FRUITCAKE
Wonderfully delicious fruitcake. I hesitated purchasing because I do not like the taste of alcohol of any kind, then I read a review that alcohol flavor was minimal. I can smell the rum a little but it's more of a fruity fragrance. The cake is filled with nuts and fruit, both of which are extremely expensive, the dark cake is moist and delicious. These fruitcakes are not mass produced, they are hand made with care and attention to detail ( Watched YouTube video). I just ordered more so I won't run out! (Long shelf life). I just found the perfect fruitcake.

Can’t Go Wrong With This Fruitcake!
This has got to be the best fruitcake I’ve had in ages! It was fresh, full of nuts, fruit and goodness. Perfect weight and not dense like a brick as some are. My only wish is for them to add a little more fruit. Nice subtle rum or brandy scent (not sure which), but nothing you taste. Just about perfect.

there was no list of ingredients
There was no list of ingredients with the cake or in the posting. I was assuming that since ingredients weren't listed on Amazon they would be on the cake packaging. Not there. This makes a difference because some people can't eat some of the spices or nuts in the cake. Otherwise the cake was good but not great. It had a good flavor from the rum and some of the fruit actually tasted like fruit. I know there were candied cherries in it but I can't tell if the other fruit was pineapple or citron, or a combination of the two. There might have been raisins but I'm not sure. There was a slight spice flavor, maybe cinnamon. As someone else remarked, it was very crumbly. I found a few places where the batter was not fully cooked. I think it had too many nuts and not enough fruit. I won't order it again but for those who don't mind all of the nuts it would be a good choice.

Our new holiday treat!
About two weeks or so before Christmas my friend and I spent a full day making her fruitcake recipe,a recipe she always said was in her family and came from a Catholic abbey many years ago. It was the best I ever enjoyed.....nothing came close...not we have discovered this fruitcake and what a Christmas blessing it is! So close to that old recipe and now w/o the work! Excellent cake...no shortage of nuts and fruit...and "spirits". Dense and rich...moist.

Dry & Forgettable
The fruitcake was disappointingly dry and sparse on nuts, with nothing about the flavor or texture suggesting a “secret” recipe, a carefully calculated aging process, or the careful hands of devoted bakers. My husband and I each took a couple of bites, expecting the rave reviews to prove true, but instead found ourselves puzzled. I wanted to love it—because I truly do enjoy fruitcake—but I couldn’t. My husband even remarked that perhaps someone who adored fruitcake might find it good, but for him it was simply dry and forgettable. I silently agreed, trying to convince myself there was some hidden richness I was missing, but it never came.Maybe we received one that was overbaked or a bit too old, but the result was a cake that lacked moisture, nuts, and the brightness of more tart fruits like more cherries. There was no notable spice either, leaving the whole experience unremarkable. In the end, neither of us would choose to buy it again. I gave it three stars only because I suspect ours may have come from a less-than-perfect batch; otherwise, it would have been two.
