Exceeded my expectations, but still could be better.
I did not purchase from Amazon or other seller here, but direct from Console Vault due to in-stock availability at the time. I opted for the 4-digit combination model for my 2016 Ford F-350. At first glance, I wasn't all that impressed with the Console Vault, but decided to start installing it to see what I thought. Ultimately, I'm pleased with it. In some ways, I would prefer a full steel box to seat in the console. However, this unit is very solid once installed and the weakest point of the vault is still the lock. Don't kid yourself into thinking this is going to stop a knowledgeable or determined thief, but it will stop opportunistic thieves who will smash into your vehicle, make a quick grab and run. I know I could be into a locked one of these in under 30 seconds with a hammer and a cordless drill.Installation was relatively simple and took maybe 10 minutes or so. Probably a bit longer as I put the top cover piece and two sides in and decided if it was definitely something I was keeping. It will do nicely for now until I find something truly better, but that probably doesn't exist without going custom.My biggest complaint about this unit is that I would actually still like to use my removeable tray inside the console and there is no room for it after the vault is installed. They could have easily made the top vault plate sit a bit lower to allow for the tray. And probably made the door/lid a touch bigger I think, but it's by no means too small. I would also like the hinge spring on the vault to be stronger so the lid pops fully open and stays there. Something tells me that it's supposed to work that way and mine may be misbehaving. My lid pops up about half an inch and has to be manually pulled up and held open. I have reached out to Console Vault about that.

Easily broken into. Will not protect against theft!
F250 was broken into last night. Thief used wrench to break off 4 digit code dial & took every thing inside. Very expense and completely useless!

Doesn't work at all. Mine was easily pried open with a screwdriver and everything stolen. It may slow them down a little but it is easily broken into. I wouldn't buy again and definitely not leave anything valuable in it.

Good idea, bad design!
I purchased this through the manufactures website. While made of heavy gauge steel, it comes in pieces that assemble together with nothing more than interlocking tabs. If someone kicks the living daylight out of your console, this thing is coming apart with your console. Good idea, bad design!

Very easy to install
Very easy to install. Sturdy with excellent fit and finish. You do not lose any space within console with the exception of a little depth. The Top of the vault has an inch or two of clearance from the console lid. Reduces console opening, down to vault lid opening size. In mine there was adequate space to mount kydex holster to drivers side-inside panel of vault. Spacers help to bring holster out from panel so I easily clear lip of lid on draw.
