12V AC to 12V DC Rectifier 120W 12 Volt AC to 12 Volt DC Converter 12V AC to DC Low Voltage Transformer IP67 Outdoor 12 Volt AC to DC LED Driver for LED Landscape Lights

I used this to change my ac from my outdoor lighting transformer to dc for some address numbers on the house.

I had two 50-watt 12 volt ac/dc landscape flood lights that were flickering. I use this rectifier to convert the 12 volt ac input to 12-volt dc. I worked well.

I wanted to add some LED tape light to an existing outdoor transformer, and this has done the trick quite nicely. I have a 300W 120V -> 12/13/14/15V AC transformer, and this rectifier is perfect for converting that from AC to DC. It also seems to withstand the elements just fine - it's in a sheltered area, but still somewhat exposed, and seems to be handling it okay.

I have no idea how electricity works, but my boyfriend installed this for me so I can have electricity in my she shed in the back yard which comes from the low voltage lighting cable.

This is very similar to a smaller, 45w version I've also received from Amazon. Very similar so very similar review. These aren't always the easiest thing to find. Amazon has made it so much easier to get this type of thing. In the past I would wait weeks for my supply house to locate this type of thing. Many LED lights now-days are 12V DC. I've had a number of customers who had old track 12 fixtures or other 12V AC lights they wanted to replace. The common LED ribbon/bulb options you find today are almost always DC. This little guy works as advertised. I like the metal case. It's well made and helps with cooling. Cooling will be important for a converter this size. For a 120w converter the wiring was a good gauge. It is larger than others I've used but that combined with the aluminum case should help it last a long time. I would recommend keeping your load to about 70-80% capacity.

This converter works flawlessly. We had our house wired for 12V AC low voltage outdoor power years ago. This is the second converter I installed, this one is being used for our backyard and is currently handling around 50 watts of various lighting on and around our deck and in our side garden. The converter was simple and straightforward to install and fit into our outdoor transformer box. If you are looking for a way to convert your older 12V AC setup this converter works well. This was much easier than pulling out the transformer and replacing all the wiring. Just take the output of your old unit and wire it into this converter and you are up and running. Not hard to do yourself and certainly recommended!
