Excellent Phone!
Purchased this phone after spending sometime reviewing all available option/products to replace my old AT&T phone (AC plug, back lit LCD screen caller ID).I am very happy with purchase of this phone. I was bit concerned about the possible dim back light but LCD screen is (Very) large and easy to read. Only time you will miss the AC plugged back light is only if you the phone is in absolutely dark room/area. Other then that, LCD is very easy to read. This phone use AA batteries for LCD screen and do not require AC plug which saves lots of spacing and simple to set-up. Call sound is absolutely clear and the volume control really works well. Bell ring sound is bit on the high pitched and may annoy some people but it will definitely get your attention when the call comes in. We are not a old person but this phone's large LCD screen, Large button and the volume control works very well and very useful. Low price for this phone is a major plus and the design is very nice/modern.I would highly recommend highly to anyone.

Fantastic Desk Top Phone!
I can't say enough about this Uniden big button desk top phone. After struggling with an AT&T slimline phone, whose Caller ID screen malfunctioned after one week, and wondering if the small buttons got the call through, I decided to purchase this phone to make life easier at the desk. This phone is a charm, with a large flip up caller ID screen, screening calls has never been easier. The large button numbers make it simple to dial at arms length. The speaker phone is awesome, with clear sound. This phone comes with all the standard features that include, redial, store function, menu and delete buttons, as well as finger tip volume control on the front panel of the phone. A large flashing light illuminates the entire side of the phone during incoming calls. A call waiting flash button is in plain site to press if needed even if on speaker phone. The price of this phone is only a few bucks more than the awful slimline series from AT&T, and worth every extra cent. Also, the large keypad, makes this an essential purchase for senior citizens as well. This phone without question, will make a nice addition for your home phone needs, whether it is used for the home office, or any other area of your home.

Best things in easy to understand package
I needed a simple phone for my home land line on my desk. It shares a FIOS connection with my desktop computer and replaces an almost new ATT instrument that never worked well and cost three times the price of this instrument. This instrument is plug and play, has a great movable screen, functional and easy volume controls in speaker and handset modes and buttons I can key with work gloves on. Not many functions, but they are easy to intuit and I was up on the operating step in about five minutes. It sits on a platform 10" above my desk. My monitor shares the platform so when I'm at my computer I can see both displays easily and decide whether or not to take an incoming call or use the computer as a phone book. It does not interfere with computer operation as did the ATT. I'd like it in black but having it in white makes it stand out from the other black equipment on the desk. Apparently rugged, nice design for not so young eyes, ears and fingers. A real bargain at the price I paid.

Like this phone a lot!
This phone has worked very well so far, although one day the Speakerphone came on all by itself and made a loud dial-tone that startled us when in the other room! (Figured it was just a friendly hello from a dear departed friend!)Absolutely LOVE the large readout of Caller I.D. and the speakerphone is so handy when you have to be on hold for a long time. Just put it on speaker and relax. Only thing disliked is the receiver, which is so skinny and slick, cannot easily perch it on shoulder and cock head to hold it there; it slides off and crashes to the desk. Makes it hard to hold phone and type or write notes while talking to someone. Would prefer the older model receiver/earpiece thingamabob. It also has a timer when you are on the phone, so you can keep track of how long you've been yakking to a long-distant friend! Like it a lot and may get a 2nd one.

FAULTY UNIDEN SPEAKER PHONES - no resolution either.
I purchased 2 of these phones through DealsPro (whom I can not reach) and after 6 months BOTH PHONES have suddenly begun the Speaker button turning on - starting by ITSELF and a dial tone can be heard.I can be in the other room OR SLEEPING and it turns itself on which means I need to either get up & turn it off in the other room or wake up & turn it off (these phones are located in 2 different rooms.BOTH OF THESE PHONES are FAULTY and DealsPro cannot be reached!! Very poor customer relations!I contacted Uniden, I informed them of my problem and that I had ordered through Amazon (DealsPro) - Uniden tells me to replace the phones as there is nothing to be done to correct this fault. Here I sit - 2 identical faulty phones - phones less than 9 mos. old and no remedy or replacement. What a load of crap!

Disappointed
Found this product to be a little on the 'cheap' side. Had to press the speaker button several times before it 'came on'. Large buttons to push did not feel 'solid'. I decided that I didn't want call waiting only because I am downsizing costs and more costs on phone bill I didn't need. I'm not that busy on the phone. Last, but not least, the little booklet of directions; the print so tiny even with glasses on I couldn't read directions. VERY difficult. Had to call company and even HE had trouble with them!I decided to keep my old AT&T land line. Much more solidly made and better quality.

Great, reliable, corded speaker phone
It's a great corded speaker phone. It is reliable and all features work as advertised. The big buttons make it easy to see and use, especially for the elderly. The speaker comes in handy when you are put on hold and they tell you that your call is important and someone will be with you shortly. Just put the speaker on and do something else for the time being.

So far, an excellent choice for a simple phone.
I had this phone for one month and everybody in the family, especially my elderly mother, loves it. I would like to mention few things that were my concern while shopping for this phone and could help other people to decide.1. The display is not lit all the time, only when the phone rings, however, it is very big and easy to read.2. You need 4 AA batteries installed in order to have any display - call waiting, caller ID, time, date, etc.3. The ringer is loud, good for people with mild hearing issues, the sound is also loud and clear when talking on the phone.4. It only has one line.5. I did not use the other features so I cannot comment on those.I will amend my comments in about one year to tell more about how long the display was working (main issue, the display presumably dies after 12-13 months) and how long the batteries last.

Excellent Phone
For my elderly mother in law, the display screen is easy to read, the button procedures to use memory and check missed calls are simple and easy for her to remember. Would definitely recommend this phone for any person who has trouble seeing or hearing, as it has a volume booster as well.

This phone is haunted - it makes random calls and answers calls! And no, this is NOT a Halloween prank!
We bought this phone just over 3 years ago (on Sep 13 2013 from amazon.ca). It was a dependable phone for about 2 1/2 years, but it has had a LOT of issues in the past few months. It is without a doubt one of the oddest things I have ever seen. Here's why.About 4 months ago I was sitting beside it and it suddenly dialed out...on its own without touching it. On the speaker phone I could hear a dial tone and then heard a ringing sound. I thought I may have accidentally bumped the speed dial or redial button so I just reached over, picked up the handset and reset it.However, over the next several days it happened at least 3 more times, sometimes while no one was in the room at least once when no one was home. My friend reported receiving a call from me with no one on the line while no one was home during this time. Then just as suddenly as it started, it stopped.Until last weekend when the phone started automatically answering incoming calls after 1/2 a ring, displaying "No Data" on the LCD and then hanging up after about 10 seconds. It did this at least 4 or 5 times over several days. I tested it a dozen times today and was able to consistently recreate the problem. When I unplugged this phone the problem went away. When I plugged this phone back in the problem came back.I don't believe in ghosts but I'll be keeping the phone in the shed just in case. Eventually I'll ditch it, but I want to hang on to it for a while in case someone wants to analyze it.

A good basic phone
A good basic phone, just what I wanted. The only thing I don't care for is that it requires 4 AA batteries to operate the LED display. My last phone didn't use batteries and I liked that function. Uniden did provide a white phone, which was another plus for me. I am a senior with limited vision, so black does not provide good functionality for me. This phone has big buttons, easy to figure out functions and a large LED display. As part of an aging population I hope they will continue to provide access to easy-to-use equipment like this one.
