Supplements for older animals
Joint Care for Dogs and CatsMy young dog has an issue with one of his hind legs due to being too rambunctious so I was happy to review this product to see if it would be something I could give my dog when he is a bit older. His injury got me thinking about how important it is to look after the health of our animals and to be able to source a good and effective product. This joint supplement comes in the form of 60 soft chews ( my dog liked them which is a bonus) with green lipid mussels being the main ingredient. This formula is recommended for elderly animals who may have joint aches and pains.Green lipid mussels are:a natural inflammatory.reduces joint pain and protects the cartilage.boosts your pet's immunity.strengthens the bones.prevents the development of arthritis in your four-legged friend. All good things a pet owner wants for their 4 legged friend. When my dog is older I would be happy to give him this. I did give him one to taste and he ate it whole. I didn’t even have to crush it.I’d say the price is quite a lot more than one would have Imagined and the container was excessively large for what is in the container.I’d say that if you gave more than one pet it would work our rather expensive too.Apart from the last two comments I’d definitely recommend for the joint care if your older animals. If you found this review helpful please click below thank you.

Cat put her nose up to them!
Pet Science Joint Care for Dogs and Cats, Clinically Tested, Assists Mobility (60 Soft Chews)We have 2 rescue dogs who both have arthritis, and a rescue cat who will be 13 years young in September, so hopefully these will help our fur babies! As both our dogs weigh around the 30kg mark they need to have 4-5 soft Chews a day, there's 60 in this container, they won't last long! There's lots of good ingredients in these so we are hoping both dogs and the cat will benefit from taking these. Both dogs took the Chews with no problems, to them it's treats.......... But the cat, well I offered her one, she sniffed it, looked at me and then walked away, so I then crumbled one up into her food, she usually eats her food immediately but yet again she sniffed it and walked away!........ When my back was turned one of our dogs ate the cats food! There's lots of good ingredients in these to support and help with the joints and other issues. If I was to buy these it would work out expensive as there's only 60 Soft Chews, OK if you only have one dog tho.

Quite expensive and dosed too low
For £18 you get 60x 2.4g chews, which for my collies the packaging suggests 4 per day costing £1.20/day.There are fairly standard anti-osteoarthritic ingredients in this supplement, however the exact dosage of each is not stated - only a unhelpful percentage. As the supplement is 2.4g per chew, glucosamine at 7.4% equates to a dosage of 177mg per chew, or 710mg per the four chews per day I give to my dogs. Per four, there is 355mg of chondroitin.By calculating the dosage of each, I can see that this supplement offers about half the dosage we usually use for each ingredient.Dosage wise, I believe this is under dosed. Price wise, it is about twice the cost, for half the dosage of other supplements.Being a chew makes it easier to give to my dogs, but because of the cost I would rather stick to mixing a capsule into their food for half the price.

Decent Joint Care Complex
A very good brewers yeast based supplement which has a lot of other beneficial ingredients (glucosamine and green lipped mussel especially) to help keep your dog healthy on multiple fronts very effectively, especially with supporting joints. We've just used this with our older dog as our younger dog has a joint supplement especially for younger more active dogs, but he's had no problems with any upset tummy or change to toileting habits etc over the past week since he's had them added in with his other supplements with his evening meal - they're suggested as soft-chew treats but I simply put them into his evening meal as find it easier as you can see they have eaten the whole serving when the food is all eaten.

Not as appealing to either cat or dog as I had expected
Our dog, and to a lesser extent, our cat too, will eat most any treat. Even if it is just a standard pet biscuit but which we treat as a treat. So I was quite disappointed that both cat and dog were not particularly keen on these biscuits/treats at all. Only after some persuading did the dog eventually deign to eat one (to appease me, I think) but the cat just refused, even after crumbling it on his food.So whilst the idea is great. and each treat probably would do them both good, it's not such an appealing product to the very animals who are supposed to benefit. I just wonder on how many different cats and dogs it was tried out on.Overall, quite disappointing but if I ever see a "New, improved flavour" sticker on a pot of these, I might try them again.

Inconclusive For Now
We've been giving our ten year old Australian Shepherd thee of these Pet Science Joint Care Soft Chews each day now for a couple of weeks. We just add the cube shape chews to his kibble and he eats them up willingly. The don't upset his digestion. He has a weak shoulder joint that flares up more and more often these days as he gets older so we are hoping that eventually these chews will ease the stiffness and any discomfort he gets as a result. So far we've not noticed any great improvement in his gait. However both my wife and I agree that he does seem to want to be more active than of late, which may well be an indication that he is feeling more comfortable. therefore I intend to update this review in a couple more weeks if there has been any further noticeable improvement with him.
