Dream

Strictly as a peice of music this is a step up from Their last effort. Rather than being just a collection of songs 'The Dream' seems to be much more cohesive and well thought out. It is a little over-produced in spots and a few of the songs are kinda blah but for the most part it is a worthy second effort. It is unfortunate that alot of the negative reviews focus on the bands move away from their metalcore sound rather than on the actual music. It is not a totally different sound than their previous efforts as some have said. They simply tried to do something different with their music and all of a sudden everyone starts screaming "sell-out." Hey metal fans, how about actually supporting these bands instead of bailing the second one tries something different. I find it ironic that after listening to metal for the last 20 years that metal fans still complain about other people not having an open mind but when one of their bands tries something different they go crazy. This is still In this Moment. If you like songs like "Beautiful Tragedy", "the Legacy..", "He said Eternity", or "When the storm subsides" off BT then you'll love this album. If you prefer their harder stuff like "Ashes" or "Next Life" then you might be disappointed but at least give them credit for taking a chance and trying something different. Try and have an open mind and give these guys and other metal bands your support because they need and deserve it.

A masterpiece. Maria shows what an exquisite voice she has. As well as being a master of songwriting. A concept album about one womans rite of passage. It flows like spring water. I know some people like her screaming but I'm glad for this CD at least she took a break from it. Stand outs are Forever, All for You , Lost At Sea, the absolutely haunting Into the Light (which sounds like a personal account of the death of a parent - I truly don't know if that's what it is) and The Dream. If at ALL POSSIBLE try and find the limited edition which contains the bonus tracks Call Me (cover of the Blondie song), Dying Star and Sailing Away. These are NO filler - they are amazing. When time can be had listening to this beginning to end with headphones it will put you in a trance. Its such a joy to hear a band this tight who truly enjoys playing together. I feel this band only got better too - I am currently loving Black Widow but that is a VERY different album then this. Get this if you like powerful women in REAL rock - not some idiot who says Miley or Rhianna is rock. They are not.

Not a fan of screaming, grunting and growling. When they go with catching and bouncy with ripping guitars and stacked vocals it is fantastic. The vocals are incredible. It feels like they are on a border line and trying to decide which way to go. Loud and melodic is my hope. This CD has some sublimely cool moments. I find myself playing this all the time. Great stuff - Kind of like Halestorm.

In This Moment's first album, Beautiful Tragedy, bowled me over and knocked me flat. The Dream is a worthy successor, it's a great, surprising album that doesn't repeat the same stuff in the first one. it's not quite as heavy, which is fine, and Maria Brink only screams on a couple tracks, the rest of it is clean vocals, which is also fine, but i admit i miss the screaming which is a big part of what initially drew me to ITM. but on the other hand, having fewer spots with screaming vocals give them more impact because there's less of it, maybe, and Maria Brink screams so well that whenever she does it hits you so much more. either way, i still love this new album, it's more eclectic than Beautiful Tragedy and in that more interesting, i think, where upon first listen you don't really know what the next track will be. it really brings the band into a more definitive style, all the songs are killer and really memorable; i had an undulating conglomerate of several of the songs stuck in my head for a while after my first listen. i could see some fans of ITM's first album being turned off by the less-heaviness of it and that many of the songs are fairly poppy, but it's still the same folks doing awesome stuff and really pushing their sound into something that's sort of metal, sort of rock, sort of... i don't know, but it's good. highest possible recommendation if that means anything!

The CD still seems to work

There are many things about this album that are just good. Melodic, good timing, openness and some screaming which so adds to the overall goodness. These words are just some of the words that make me think of this album.I think that this also proves their ability as a band to prove their worth by reaching out to many more people with their music. I think this improved their overall timing and togetherness as a band, and really pushed them onto the next album "Blood."Many elements come together when you go softer and more melodic.

Great songs and glad I bout this album for real

GREAT album! I can still sit and listen to this over and over and over. Every song on here is amazing and exploding with talent. This is my favorite album from In This Moment, but I like all of their albums. Each one has a new, unique sound for them. This album is so melodic but makes you want to thrash around at the same time. This is definitely a must have!

So far this is the fifth album I have. This band are amazing. Their music is so varied from album to album. Some people don’t like that, but I love it. Each album is great in its own way, and this one is no exception. Love it.

Seit ich überwiegend Rock, Hard-Rock-Band, Metal, Symphonic-Metal u. Ä. höre bin ich viel auf "Entdeckungsreise" Diese CD war auch mal wieder so eine Zufallsentdeckung und ich höre sie immer wieder gerne.

Great album so just turn the volume up and enjoy
