Black Derby Deluxe Costume Hat (Derby Hat)

Bought this for a 1920s event. It was too big for my partner's head, so I glued some felt strips to the inside, to make a tighter fit. It arrived with one side crumpled/pushed in, but it pushed right back out and looked fine. Quality was great, perfect for a costume-y event. Does not look cheap on. We did run into a person who had rented a real, fancy bowler hat (silk lined, etc), and it looked pretty cheap compared to that, but on its own this is a pretty sweet bowler hat for the price.

Very well made, not a cheap plastic "toy" that you use once and throw away. This is very sturdy and has a great look to it. Yes, it is shiny plastic but it looks very good and fits well. If you are need of a low cost bowler for costume or party, etc, this is a great buy.

The hat was better made than I thought. I read a lot of the reviews and my only real concern was if it would arrive smashed due to poor packaging. That didn’t happen; it came in a box with packing product so no damage. I ordered this hat to make-up and wear for my steampunk cosplay. I did some reverse stenciling with spray-paint and the hat still held up nicely holding the paint well. I added some gears and chain and surprisingly the hat was sturdy enough for the work. I used pins to add the trinkets and I didn’t have too much trouble punching through the hat. It was light and easily to wear. A little too big for me, but I have this issue with hats. I used a small piece of packing foam to glue inside to fit a little more snug on my head.

This is a great hat for being a prop. It is made from a light pressed polyester felt by the looks of it. The inner measurement is approx. 22.5 inches.I bought mine to make a "Cousin Itt" from the Addams Family. I am using tomato cages, dollar store grass skirts, dollar store sunglasses and this lovely chapeau to top it off.. I am probably going to spray the hat with a water-proof UV protectant spray like 3M Scotch Guard. I am certain Amazon has a good one to use, as they have everything that you will ever need at the touch of a finger-tip. But I digress. It is a very serviceable derby hat for Halloween whether you plan on being Bat Masterson or Cousin Itt.

I purchased this hat for my 4th grader. He is a part of History Week at school and needs to dress like Orville Wright for their wax museum. Needless to say, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a hat that he might not wear again unless he needs it for another costume. This hat was perfect for him...slightly big, but that's better than being too small. He looks really cute in it too. Price was great...shipping was fast...and it was well protected in a big box. Love it!

It does look the part but runs on the small side, and the packaging doesn't really protect it (packed in a shipping envelope) the brim was beant but I was able to re form it enough for the costume I needed it for.

My son wore this for a school history project. He had to dress up as a historical figure. This hat was great. A little big for him 13 yrs old but he’s on the small side. Nice quality not flimsy or cheap.

This is a stylish, elegant bowler hat which gives you a typically English look. And it comes at a throwaway price.

Used this hat for a Charlie Chaplin costume and it was perfect. Durable enough and decent quality for the price.
