These seem OK on the face of it, until you try to screw them shut. The closure screws provided to seal the unit are so soft and fit so tightly into the holes that the heads strip and it's impossible to get a watertight seal. I ended up using a cable tie around the body. Thankfully it's under the eaves so won't get much if any water running over it. I would definitely not trust it to be IP65 compliant in the open. Provide decent closure screws and this would be a perfectly good unit.

I bought this to extend a wire for an outside light that the plasterers pulled in before plastering so it no longer reached the light. It took very little time to trim and fit the wires into the terminal block which can be done free of the case before dropping it into place and screwing on the top. The screws are easy to tighten and feels like a secure fit that won't let in water and so far has seen the light working perfectly even in heavy rain.

These are good quality plastic junction boxes, with everything you need to make a watertight cable joint. I am not using them outside but I am pretty certain that they will be watertight, providing that you tighten everything up as you should using the screws and glands provided.
