This is a good product that does take a pattern well. It retains that pattern quite well through the lock feature, but it is not perfect. The relatively short stroke length of the individual teeth means that a complex shape, such as a door frame needs to be taken in a couple of goes in order to transpose it to a full pattern, making accuracy an issue if you are not used to doing this.The look holds the shape well, but can make using this a little more tricky than a looser fitting one, so this might not be ideal for somebody with restricted movement, or reduced range of motion in their hands or arms.

This item is made of plastic so will not rust. I bought this item to replace my original one that was made of metal, which I have owned for over 30 years, and after a time left in shed it rusted somewhat, which made it rather difficult to use due to pins sticking and getting slightly bent. This plastic item works quite smoothly and gives a good trace.

I bought it to install vinyl floor tile, and laminate floor . It feels solid in the hand. The plastic pins are small enough, allowing for accurate reads, wery good one when you need to scribe.

Bought as a gift so I can’t really comment

This was a solid, quality product. I found the size appropriate and helpfully long. I found that the item was a little stiff to initially mould to the contour I wished. I understand that it needs to be stiff to keep the shape afterwards but makes it harder to use.

Perhaps something I should have thought of before buying but it's a little too long to get into tight areas. For the most part it works fine though and the fins tend to stay in place well enough to get a relatively accurate line. Likely much the same as all the other similar products but may be worth also getting a smaller model alongside this.

All the times I've used a tap measure and made a pig's ear of it now its great, I will not have that problem anymore

I wanted this tool for so long time, finally now i have bought it and it will make so much easier work for door corners and do flooring.I recommend this tool. And also good for kids.
