DEWALT 20V MAX* Battery, Compact, 4.0-Ah (DCB240)

Dewalt replacement battery works well. Lower, flatter profile than the regular Dewalt batteries which I really like. Good value for the money. Works with all my Dewalt power tools. Seems to hold the charge while in use well.

Bought this battery when it went on sale and like all my Dewalt batteries, they work like a charm. I like the profile of this size battery. Fits well and isn't bulky keeping the profile of the tool perfect. I've used it with drills, saws, cut off tools and more. Not great for the Dewalt bower though unless the job you need done is small. But when these batteries go on sale, don't hesitate.

Arrived fast and charged up ready to go. However I will say this, it came in a large box with about 1 sq. ft. of paper packing, sorta just tossed in. Amazon needs to train their personnel how to properly package items for shipment, and not just toss it in a box and call it good. The battery is raw, meaning no packaging of it's own of any kind. Not even plastic shrink-wrap. Judging by the amount of scuffing on the case of the battery it got bounced around pretty good during shipment,. I just hope it didn't affect the longevity of it, but I guess time will tell. I still give it 5 stars though, because it was 1/3 the price here on Amazon, and it's genuine Dewalt, (as far as I can tell). Works great, so far, with my Dewalt impact driver.

This battery had a minor flaw. It does not seat fully into the charger when the charger lies flat on a bench, so it does not take a charge. If I push the battery into place and hold it there, then it starts to charge as long as my hand is on the battery. It does seat into a tool for use though, and will not fall out. I have two chargers, and it fails to charge in either of them. (All 4 of the other batteries I had do seat fully into those chargers, so it is this battery.) The result was to push me to do something I should have done long ago: hang the charger from the wall, where the weight of the battery causes it to stay connected with the charger contacts and it now takes a charge. This saves me space on the shelf I had the chargers sitting on, so a good thing. No shop ever has enough shelf space. There are two attachment points on the back of the charger where if you leave a screw head sitting proud of the wall roughly 1/4 inch, the charger is designed to slip firmly over the screw heads. In the end, not quite enough of a flaw to force me to return the battery. I'm posting this comment for others to gain something, since it was an easy fix.

I bought this as a back up for my 20 volt hand held work light that was designed for 2ah but is a little big for it but I know it will last being dewalt quality

I have all dewalt tools but they came with the small batteries. this was a good addition long lasting and fast recharge fits my atomic drill perfectly

Battery was all good but the Dewalt 4amps compact is clearly not a good choice for the little Dewalt orbital sander. The weight and longer size unbalanced it. I will stick with the 2amps for that tool. Standard 5amps are good too but not for the final sanding.

Tengo la batería de 2 amperios y lo utilizaba en el modelo Dcd 999 pero se tragaba la batería en unas pocas horas de trabajo Este remedió la situación, Una muy buena opción para mejorar la capacidad de autonomía, tarda todo el día de trabajo y sin estar preocupado, realmente es muy compacto,es más bajo que los modelos anteriores pero es más ancho, de adelante para atrás lo que le da más estabilidad al taladro que es grande y que con la batería de 2 amperios era inestable y con brocas grandes tendía a caerse Antes de comprarlo leí en un comentario que al utilizar esta pila el gancho tenía que quitarse por que la pila de 4 amperios era muy ancha, pero eso no es verdad, la pila está hecha a medida pensado para eso y no estorba en nada(es un detalle que no se le puede escapar a una marca que le presta mucha atención a todo su ecosistema de Accesorios ) Como se ve en la foto Además con la pila más grande se ve mejor el taladro, más robusto y estable 👍 Tiene indicador de carga y los plásticos son a los que nos tiene acostumbrados dewalt Muy recomendado👌
