Has anyone had any luck replacing one through amazon or the seller? I loved this product while it worked but the solar power stopped functioning!

We have had two. The seller sent us another one when the first one didn't work. The second one didn't turn, but we moved it to a different position and made sure the panel was facing the sun and it worked well. I wish I could remember where we bought it. I would prefer that seller to Amazon.

There is a very slight whir if you put your ear right next to the solar panel. If you stand away from the window, you will not hear anything. I'm very happy with mine and will probably get one or two more.

How soon after you hang it up should it start working? Does it need a few hours or a day to charge up? (Because nothing is happening!)

It only works when the direct sun hits the solar panel and builds up enough energy to turn the gears usually within about a minute. Best way to test is take it outside in your hand and point the black plate to the sun and see if it starts to turn. If not GENTLY turn one of the crystal to see if you can get the gears engaged. If it work outside then when you place in the window be sure to adjust the black solar plate up or down until the sun hits it directly.

How large are the crystals on the double rainbow maker?

The crystals are 3 cm (1-3/16 inch) diameter (or side-to-side, since they are octogons). The single and the double units have the same size crystals. It's just that the double has 2 that turn in opposite directions.

Broke within a few days, poor customer service on Kikkerlands part! Buyer beware

Got this from my mom for Christmas literally stopped working within two days whenever I asked to do a return and a replacement I was told I’m not allowed to do a replacement. I could only get a refund and then re-order but I got the item on sale, I don’t understand why you don’t allow replacements sent to your customers if they’re sending your faulty product back to you. Poor customer service. Thankfully, Amazon was on my side gave me a gift card and I was able to re-order but I’ll never spend another penny out of my own pocket on this brand.

Der "Regenbogenmacher" ist für dem Zimmergebrauch gedacht erzeugt bunte Lichterfunken, die zauberhaft über die Wände huschen. Ein wirklich hübscher und origineller Zeitvertreib. Das Funktionsprinzip: Per Saugnapf wird der Rainbowmaker an einem Fenster befestigt. Trifft ihn direkte Sonnenbestrahlung, beginnt er sich (geräuschlos) zu drehen und wirft mit dem Glaskristall regenbogenfarbene Lichtreflexe an die Wand. Wandert die Sonne weiter und hängt er nicht mehr im direkten Licht, kommt er zum Stillstand. Wir haben das Gerät zum ersten Mal in den USA gesehen. Unsere Kinder waren entzückt. Inzwischen haben wir auch schon einige weiter verschenkt. Immer große Begeisterung. Achtung, eine kleine Warnung: Für Arbeitszimmer gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die bewegenden Feen-Funken können einen ziemlich nervös machen! Und wie gesagt, es sind eher Lichtpunkte und keine großen Streifen (Regenbogen). Doch sonst absolut wunderschön!
