The Gospel According to the Apostles: The Role of Works in a Life of Faith

Wow I throughly enjoyed the Gospel according to Jesus. I wanted to read the Gospel according to the Apostles and now I can say I am blessed I have. Dr. John MacCarthur does not water down the Gospel.

This book addresses many issues such as "carnal Christians", easy believism, and the lack of repentance and perseverance not being taught in most "Christian churches." If you want clarity on what the true gospel entails, this book has the answers. Compare it against your current church to see if you need to consider a change. I left my church for heretical teachings and thought I was the alone on my side of the fence. It turns out MacArthur has been fighting this battle since before I was born, and thank God for him fighting for God's truth.

John MacArthur nails it in this book (the whole 4 book series, really)! It's easy to see why the "No Lordship" movement has attacked him so relentlessly.Mr. MacArthur supports his claims with nothing more than the Word of God.The Gospel According to The Apostles(along with The Gospel According to Jesus, The Gospel According to God, and The Gospel According to Paul) is very informative and true to God's Word.Grab your Bibles and follow along! Don't just take the Mr Macarthur's word for it, study and investigate as you read.You won't be disappointed!

It's about time someone wrote a book attacking the easy-believism of the twentieth and now the twenty-first century. It first appeared long ago, as both Jesus and the apostles had to attack it, too. But a misunderstanding of grace has been so prevalent in contemporary evangelism that some circles seem to have lost track of the gospel.I won't get into all of its points, for you can read it for yourself. I was saved after reading a book written by someone who must have believed in easy-believism; I read other writings by this same person later which described his beliefs in more detail. No wonder I was so confused in the early years of my Christian walk. The heresy of easy-believism says one thing, but the Bible and inner conviction say another.MacArthur wrote this as a sequel to The Gospel According to Jesus, and both are must-read books.

Provides in detail and clarity the undeniable truth about Lordship Salvation. There really is no other type of salvation. Highly recommend.

Another amazing book on true Biblical salvation from John MacArthur. I also recommend "The Gospel According Jesus" and "The Gospel According to Paul." A false reviewer below tries to claim MacArthur is teaching "works based" salvation. This person obviously did not read this book as MacArthur painstakingly and clearly explains justification is by faith in Christ alone, but also as Scripture teaches, justification cannot be divorced from, and is always followed by sanctification. Long story short... read the book and see for yourself before listening to the critics.

Great book from a great author. John MacArthur is an excellent expositor.I have all four of the "Gospel according to _____" books. They are great resources.
