The mat was delivered quickly and in good packaging. DynActive was very good about keeping me up-to-date with emails on delivery. I have taken it to about 10 classes now but I do not do hot yoga so I can't rate it for that. Otherwise, I followed the cleaning instructions when I first took it out of the package. No strong odors after cleaning (out of the box not nearly as strong as others) and the mat has not been slippery for me. I really like the thickness - it is much better on my knees. No signs of tearing or stress marks so far. Very happy with my purchase!

mat does not slip on the floor, that is big difference from one I had before. Negative side for me that hands are slipping on the mat. There is no firm grip. When I do yoga and need to have steady palms on the ground that's the time when my hands slowly slipping away and is hard to hold steady pose. I thought maybe my palms are sweating, but that is not a case. I do yoga every day and the same case is each time I have palms on the mat.

I was excited to use this mat because of the thickness, eco friendliness, and supposed stickiness. However, from the first use it did not grip the floor or my body, and the more I use it the more it stretches out like elastic. Very disappointed.

I have had this yoga mat for 8 months now and have been using it regularly (about twice per week)... and it is STILL the most slippery mat I have ever used. I purchased it after reading many of the reviews, both positive and negative, so I was aware of the possibility of a "film" being on the mat that would cause it to be slippery at first. I used it for a month or two, slipping every time, and when the slipperiness didn't go away, I took the company's (and many reviewers') suggestion of washing it, cleaning it, and soaking it in a diluted vinegar solution. I tried using both sides of the mat - the wavy lined side and the smoother, patterned side. None of that worked, and my hands still slide when I'm in down-dog, and it's super frustrating. It's too late for me to return the mat, but I am definitely in search of a new one. I would advise against purchasing.

This mat takes some getting used to as it's a really different texture to most others, but having used it for a few months and then tried my old (pretty standard) mat for a practice, I immediately noticed the difference: this one has a superior grip, and a thickness that soothes the knees but offers sufficient resistance to enable solid grounding. An excellent choice, especially given its price!

Fantastic mat! Tried it out this evening in hot yoga class and loved it! Much better cushion than my previous "name brand" mat. I tried it without a towel just to see how non-slippery it was, which held up well. I still use a towel though just because I sweat a lot. I plan to order a few more as gifts for my friends who do yoga since they have also complained about their mats not providing much cushion. It's a little bigger than my previous mat but fits fine in my yoga bag since my bag is pretty big. Highly recommend!!

This mat really does not slip. It is very lightweight and does not melt or get sticky when left in a hot car. It is think and gives excellent support. The only minor flaw is that my cotton/spandex yoga clothes do not slide on this mat - you really need total spandex slippery gear.
