Marge's Custom Slipcovers: Easy to Make & Snug Fitting

Marge has the ability to turn a daunting task into a straight forward step by step logical task through her very calm approach and easy to follow directions with excellent accompanying pictures and diagrams. Her book is so nicely done that it provides guidance and tips that would be appropriate for beginners to experts in my opinion.

Marge really knows what she's doing and this is a decent reference book but it could of used some editing. You often have to really meditate on the pictures to figure out what is being illustrated. The wording can be confusing too. But, apparently Marge listened to feedback because her 2nd book "More Custom Slipcovers" is extremely well done and really easy to understand and follow. I don't regret buying this book but I'm glad I have both her books so I can use the 2nd one to help me understand the 1st one.

This book is very hard to read and understand. It skips around not following a step1 step 2 procedure . And the pictures are so confusing . They are photos and the materials are all X-ray wild fabrics making it very difficult to look at and figure out what the heck it is . Let alone the fabrics are very outdated telling me the author made these slip covers a long time ago. She is not a good teacher . Doesn’t explain well. I would not recommend this book to anyone. I returned it. I’ve found wonderful slip cover instructions online and they are free .

Love this Book - So easy to follow - I bought 2 books on slipcovers - both good but think this one is the best

I already have this great book and now I am purchasing a copy for a friend. Great photos and many super tips. Marge and I learned to sew together in 4-H and home ec classes more than fifty years ago and now we live 1500 miles apart and seldom see each other. I am proud of her work.

My wife has been wanting to have a slipcover made for our coach for the longest time. We have an older piece and well they just don't make them like to use to. My wife is talented in so may ways and decided she would like to do it herself. I found this book as a gift for her. She loves it! The book is very detailed and the explains how to create a slipcover step by step. The end result is incredible, we have an older coach that looks like new. I give this book my highest recommendation.

The layout of this book is disorganized.The explanations were unclear.I bought it to learn how to add a deck to the slipcover I was making, and the hardest part, where the arm meets the front and the deck, is glossed over.So, then I read about adding a skirt.Very unclear, and I'm someone who sews regularly.If I weren't so lazy, I'd return it.
