Fellowes Professional Series Back Support, Black (8037601)

I'm suffering from a lower lumbar injury and have been experiencing chronic pain for 10 months and it has gotten to a point that it's close to unbearable. I lose at least 3 hrs of sleep per night rolling around trying to get out of pain. I'm on a deadline to complete a work project and I've hardly been able to work at my desk. When this product arrived, I had been sitting at my desk for at least 6hrs straight and was coming into a lot of pain. I could hardly hold myself up. I unwrapped it immediately and put it on my chair, so easy and seems like it would fit any chair. Sat down and WOW! What a difference! The way that it aligned my posture and brought me into a position that is comfortable for working. None of the other similar products had an upper back cushion as well or the top strap to hold her up.. This is really helping to get my shoulders back. The cushion is such a nice spoungyness to lean back on and this completely rearranged my posture. You can adjust it higher or lower for your needs and no need to readjust it constantly from slipping around because the strap goes over the top as well as around the back and holds it in place. This product is well made, looks visually pleasing, seems it might be washable as it has some zippers on the cushions, is very functional and so I will also say that it's a good price for an item that's gonna save my back and help me get back to work so I'm not out of house and home soon. Do not hesitate to buy this product or think of ordering any other. Just look no further, seriously. I don't write reviews but I read tons of them before making a purchase and I want you to get out of pain too. Good luck!

I purchased my Fellowes Professional Series Back Support through the Amazon Warehouse (used-like new condition) to save a few bucks. It installed quickly on my Hon Ignition Task Chair, Black , which while a supportive, comfortable office chair - isn't the best on my back for long computer sessions. Playing with the placement of the back support straps and then cinching them into position takes a little time, and with this chair the fit isn't ideal, but truly I think it can be adapted to fit most office chairs assuming they are not 'manager or executive' types with extra tall or wide backs. Very little info comes with this item, but the best fit is achieved by moving it around until you feel comfortable. For me, that means the top-center cushion sits between my shoulder blades, about at 'bra strap level'. (Sorry... not sure how to put that any other way!) The lumbar support placed right in the small of my back above my hips pretty much gives me a perfect fit. POINT TO CONSIDER BEFORE PURCHASING: I'm 5'6" and of average weight. I think this product would be a good one for most people 5'4" - 5'8", but taller or shorter folks may not find the fit to be as good. There is no way to increase or diminish the space between the two padded areas. The pads can be removed from each section of the back support, and the cover (with straps attached) can be hand washed or machine washed on low. I am pleased I decided to purchase this product for added comfort while spending extended hours at my desk. It provides me with support for a more comfortable spine alignment, which in turn removed the need for me to get a lift for my feet for proper ergonomics. Nice design, well made, feels good (not too hard or too soft) and will fit different sizes of office chairs via easy strap adjustments. I recommend it!

I will probably return this, not so much for the product as that I failed to notice details when I orderd. I suffer from low back pain & have been working hard to improve my sitting posture. I've had a hard time finding a back support that feels like it really nestles into the small of my back. The Fellowes pad looked great. However, I failed to notice it was fitted on an inexpensive and armless office chair. I use a more executive type with arms. It would 100% fit beautifully had Fellows simply made the side straps longer. But no, they are far too short for an executive style chair. Again, the item is fine. The packaging was great. It just does not work on my style of chair. Leaving this here so others learn from my mistake.

I've used this for a few months now, and I really like the lower lumbar support. My back was almost entirely convex against the back of my old desk chair, and this has really helped straighten out my spine and help me sit up straighter and reduce back pain/fatigue. My desk chair has a high back that comes all the way to the top of my back and attached arm rests at the sides, and this support still fits on it, so if you have a high-backed desk chair, it should fit fine. I like how I can slide the support up and down on the chair back to just where I like it. I did, however, end up tearing out the memory foam in the top triangular part of the support (there's a zipper that allows you to access the foam, but I still had to rip it out in two pieces to finally remove it). That part was just awkward and never felt right no matter what I did. It was too high and narrow and just dug into my spine. It's a lot comfier with that piece gone.

When I strained my back in December I noticed, more than usual, that my office chair was torturing me. I installed this support system and can work comfortably. Later, when I left the position, I found it fits most chairs. It fits awkwardly on my secretary chair in the office at home but works well enough to be useful. One word of caution. Get used to adjusting it every so often and when you first sit down. You will want to make sure the orientation is as shown in the picture. Installing it is easier if you learn a few tricks: 1. Install the top sling and one the arm slings first over the top of the chair. 2. Tighten slightly. 3. Pull the other, loose, sling in place and clip it. 4. Tighten all slings to align. Take care with the clips that you don't break them by forcing the male piece into the female piece. It helps to pinch the male piece so that they glide into the female. Within a few hours, my back felt much better. I was using a cane for 3 weeks. Apparently, the makers have added zippers to the pads allowing them to be replaced when compressed in place or aged. If I were to improve this support it would be by adding an adjustable vertical strip of plastic to set the pads in place. If this review helped, please add your vote.

I've been using this for about 2-3 weeks now. It takes some getting used to because it feels a bit "bumpy" and unlike any other pillow I've bought. However, I've noticed a big difference in the way I walk after being seated for long: I feel that my back is more relaxed and I've even noticed that I stand up straight and don't slouch over at the end of the day! I don't know how that works but whatever it is, it's workin'! I'm 5'10 and I've always had issues with adjsuting my office chair so that my back is positioned comfortably AND so I can have leg room underneath. While I can't do anything about getting more leg room, I can definetely do something about the positioning of my back with respect to the computer screen. This back support pillow helps me a lot in that I don't feel like I have to tense my back in order to sit up straight. One thing that is a bit tricky is setting it up. I tried doing it exactly as pictured but it just didn't work for me. I adjusted the suspenders so that the pillow sits lower on my back rather than my mid-to-upper back. But you gotta do what works!

For many years, I have used a mesh style back support, but it wasn't doing the job anymore. The strap configuration is such that it will fit a variety of chairs, and I am using it on a wooden chair at my kitchen table. The gel padding is sturdy and supportive, and has a slight give. My old back support was mesh, and I had tried traditional pillow styles, and I found them uncomfortably warm. I worried this style might be less ventilated than the mesh and I'd be hot, but I do not notice a temperature difference in that way. I am very pleased with the feel, look, and quality of this item, I expect it to last a long time.
