Data Governance Must Have
If your responsibilities include data governance you must have this book.. It’s right next to the DAMA-DMBOK2 and Non-Invasive Data Governance..

A superb book for both newcomers and experienced practitioners
As the headline says, this is an excellent book for both newcomers to Data Governance and for experienced practitioners. In my case, I am an experienced practitioner, but still found this book useful both as a reference guide and as a way to help educate clients and co-workers. Though much of the subject material is stuff I know, the book is an extremely effective way of getting that information into a cohesive whole that can be used effectively. It is, in addition, the most tightly-written book I've ever read. That is, there are no wasted words, the examples are clear and easily understood, and each page contains a LOT of valuable information. Further, the way the text is presented makes it easy to use the material to help others understand what data governance is all about. I am extremely impressed with John's abilities as an author!I also know quite a few people who are just getting started in Data Governance (or even data management) and I highly recommend this book to further their education. In all cases, they have come back to me with high praise for the contents, since the author (and the book) don't assume a high degree of knowledge or familiarity with "all things data". As many of you know, it is frequently the case that individuals in the business are "assigned" to "do data governance" and need to get educated quickly. John's book is the perfect way to start that journey -- and then serves as a guide during the implementation.Well done!

Great content but all the illustations are cut in the Kindle edition
We are in 2021, it's about time the electonic books reach the same level of quality as the physical ones... In this one, all the images, tables, etc. are cut.

So much text. Meaningless charts. Nothing actionable.
Wow. In this book you will find words. Many, many words. And many charts. None of them mean anything. If you are a professional and you know your business and you know your data and you know what you are doing, and you have talented people around you who know what they are doing, then avoid this book. Knowing what’s in this book is worse than not knowing. Just make it up. You’ll be better off.If you are clueless about how data is managed and organized and if you want to lead your organization into a years long slog of a data transformation initiative (please pause and think about that for a minute) then buy this book to sound even more impressive in your cluelessness to other clueless people around you. Following this book will create busy work for armies of people you never knew you didn’t need to hire.See images for meaningless charts.

Way too much words and too little useful information
I bet the author of this book would take 10 pages to describe a tomato soup recipe ;)I found very little useful information in this book and scrolled through way too many pages to find something that would help me design the proper data governance. Unfortunately, with very little success.. this book mostly consists of unnecessary details, high level charts, impractical usecases.. just fluffy text
