I've only used this to press tinctures, but it would absolutely work to extract juice from berries. It comes with a washable bag you could put the berries in, then press away!

Q: Is the crusher disk stainless steel? Is there any part of the press that comes into contact with food which would not be stainless steel?

Yes, all parts in contact with food are stainless steel.
