is there any special way u need to charge the headset and the receiver at the same time .my headset charges OK but no luck with the receiver

The receiver needs to be plugged in to USB cable in the same way the headphones charge. Unlike some other systems, the wireless jack will not charge simply by inserting into the headphones.

Can these be used as a regualr pair of bluetooth headphones when not using them with a guitar or will they only pair with the transmitter?

Yes, they are very good! No noise cancelling though so if you are enjoying the music quite loud in a public place you should hope everyone else likes it as well! I wish I knew this before listening to my ‘Patriots Play Pan-Pipes’ album which includes every National album from Eastern Europe played in full glory!
