We have a wood stove and use wooden matches to light the fire inside. We had been using one of the paper boxes the matches come in for years and it was looking rather beat up. One day I said, “You know, we could make this match box look a whole lot better!” So then I started looking for a suitable box. I found this lovely wooden incense burner/storagebox and really love the design. We ordered the box, which has lovely carving on top and small, trunk-up brass elephants across the front. My husband had ordered a package of peel and stick strikers, which he placed on one end. The matches we had are just the tiniest bit too long, so he took a handful out to the shop and trimmed them off to fit. We both love our new match box. The craftsmanship is very nice and if you are using it to store and burn incense, it’s lovely for that as well.

The hole inside, in which we place the incense to be held ,is too close to the lid, making the incense either stop burning or it could burn the box.

Very stylish, I love the way the armor comes out.

Well made box. Can use stick or cone incense. Fast delivery too.

Though good for disbursing the incense smoke, the holes for holding the wood stick are too big, and the incendiary part of the incense stick wants to fall and rest on the wood of the box, making it a concern for possibly catching the box on fire. We have other boxes that are identical, and the hole drilled for the stick is smaller, and it suspends in place. I will drill my own hole to hold it up, but some people don’t have the capability. Hope this makes sense.
