Classic Canvas Messenger Bag

I'd been looking for an all-purpose bag for work for quite some time. Had all the paralysis by analysis syndrome as I needed to pack notebooks, a Macbook, Sony tin headphones, an iPad, charger cables, pens, pencils, INIU power pack, a bottle of water, plus more. Mid paralysis I was sitting watching an episode of '24' and saw the bag Jack Bauer uses for his field kit. On a whim I searched and found that the bag he used was commercially available, and for under £40! Being an anorak I purchased one. PRODUCT: The bag is spacious and there is plenty of room for all the above just using the large central compartment, however, the two front and side pockets are reasonably large and the side pockets easily accommodate a litre bottle of water. The bag is secured by a large over-flap that is velcroed. An adjustable carry strap can be lengthed or shortened to the wearer's needs, and it is comfortable either worn with the strap across the chest or just hanging from the shoulder. When placed down the bag invariable sits squarely on the surface and doesn't flip over when fully loaded as above. The bag is made of solid canvas material and the straps are held to the bag with robust metal rectangular holdings. I've used it daily since purchase and am delighted with its practicability for my needs. This may be for you if you're after an inexpensive, practical bag. Even if you're not doing field ops for CTU!

I ordered this bag because my old everki messenger bag was getting a bit worn out. I take my bag everywhere with me so I was looking for something a bit more durable which could be used everyday without worries of it wearing out quickly. Whilst I haven't had this bag long enough to make a complete judgement of its durability the initial signs are good. The pockets are all double stitched so they are very strong, and the straps are double stitched as well as having a brass stud holding them in place (a good thing, because in my experience the straps are the first things to go on a messenger bag) The bag is also of a good size so you can get lots in it without worry, the strap is also nice and wide so it spreads the weight of the bag, making it much more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The only complaint I have is that the bag only has two small strips of Velcro on the front holding the front flap down which means it can be a bit difficult to close it properly, especially when it's empty. The bag is also not waterproof, but this hasn't proved to be a problem for me, plus there are many methods of waterproofing canvas if this is a big problem for you. All in all this is a great bag, for a great price that looks good, is well built and has plenty of space. Plus it doesn't hurt that it's the same bag that Jack Bauer wears. Highly recommended!

So far very happy with this bag. Have made small modifications by sewing on much larger patches of hook/loop on the front of the bag so that the "lid" can close no matter how full I stuff it. (would have given 5 stars if the hook/loop patches had been properly sized from the factory). The 'front' pockets are large enough for a 10" Tablet (think full size Ipad) but not quite large enough for a tablet in a padded case. The main part of the bag will take my gym kit with room to spare, including the trainers, so very impressed with that. The cotton/canvas material is strong, but reasonably soft to the touch, no where near as 'coarse' as some canvas bags. Hoping it'll be hard wearing enough, but seems good so far.

Be just like Jack Bauer. Brilliant bag. Loads of space. Nice classic design. It’s all you need tbh.

Brilliant quality! A worth while bag! Adjustable strap isn't too small or too big, comfortable size for men or women. Fits as expected. I can fit plenty of A4 folders in.

On the whole the transaction was excellent so top marks to the seller, however I do feel the bag is somewhat overrated and IMHO falls short of the quality I would expect for the price commanded by the fact that this is allegedly THE BAG used and featured in the TV series 24. Having said that it does the job I purchased it for admirably although I have had to make a few personal modifications, it would benefit from a padded section on the shoulder strap as well as proper closures as opposed to Velcro on the main flap all of which I have added. To sum up a good bag but in my eyes over priced for what it is.

The bag is just right. Nice long, wide strap and the bag is nice and big, with 2 big front pockets, 2 end pockets big enough for a bottle and a small zip pocket inside. Delivery was good and on time, even over the Easter period

This is my 3rd Rothco bag [in 3 different colours] and I aint disappointed...hard wearing,tough and looks like it was bought in the 90s..easily fits my 16inch laptop and the sh#te that goes with it..Great for booze/bottle run to the Super and great for the poolside.[..-towels etc]..highly recommend.....the slight minus is the side studs do go a bit rusty after washing....£15.00 sale price made it doubly sweet.....and it's the same bag as used in 24 by Jack Bauer....[in green].....

This bag is exactly what I wanted. It is a heavy weight canvas that looks like it will hold up well. The pink is a nice shade. There isn't any design on the outside so I am buying some patches and small pins to decorate it. I like being able to add my own personal flair to the outside. The bag has a pocket on each side that can hold a water bottle. The strap is wide enough that it doesn't dig into your shoulder when the bag is fully loaded. Under the flap is a small zipper pocket, a huge pocket, and two smaller pockets. The two smaller pockets aren't very small I can fit a paperback, graphing calculator and I clicker in one with room to spare. I put all my pencils and pens in the other pocket. The large pocket has plenty of room books and notebooks. There is still plenty of room after loading all my school things. The bag is floppy with no form which I like in messenger bags because they form to your body. I think this makes them more comfortable then stiff bags when carrying heavy books. This bag was a great purchase I highly recommend.

ロスコのド定番。キャンバスバッグ。手に取るとナヨっとしてますが、生地が分厚くてしっかりしています。 バッグのフタはマジックテープで閉じます。あんまり強くない把持力なのでサラッとフタがあいて便利です。この点はハードユーズには向かない。タフな現場にはちょっと向きませんが、生地が厚めなのでちょっとした作業くらいならこれでも十分です。 私は仕事柄、現場の点検に従事していますが今の所、ベストなバッグです。 バッグにはテスター、ドライバー、プライヤー。ペットボトル。a4 ファイルなど入れてますが容量は充分。 ベルトもそこら辺の安物みたいにすぐに動いたりしません。 兎に角、現場のチョイ作業には使い勝手がいいですね。

I very much love the quality of this bag. It has two velcro strips on the inner-part of the flap that hangs over the side. It's a soft seal that doesn't make a horrendous noise. I truly detest the sound of velcro but this bag doesn't bother me at all. I would've preferred buckles or buttons yet the velcro seems to work good so far. I'll see how it goes long term, albeit I've got high expectations that it will last. The colour also appeared a hair more yellow than the picture I think. It could be just me but I don't mind as I've gotten more used to the colour. This product comes in the 'Coyote Brown' colour option. Overall, I'd strongly recommend this item as it is made with 100% cotton canvas. It has a nice feel to it and is very thick and durable. If you need a good messenger bag look no further than bags from Rothco. I'm very impressed with their products.

Bought this for my son to use as a bag for school. Seems very sturdy, was able to hold what he needs. Will have to see how it holds up.
