best hand zapper I've had
This item uses 2 AA batteries. This is a good thing - I have the rechargeable one and it hasn't worked for me as well. The batteries last a long time and the zap is very strong. This works against fruit flies as well as bigger insects. I bought it to mostly use against fruit flies.Sometimes fruit fly gets though the holes unscathed, but you'll get her next time. It's extendable, so I could reach those little maggots anywhere on the wall or ceiling. The had bends which is also convenient if you to cover certain aria on the ceiling. This will clear your home off the fruit flies within a day if you are patient enough. Then you still need to use liquid poison to put into the drains and keep an eye to not let them reappear. Fruit flies multiply really fast, so just keep zapping them and treat the drains for some time.

just awesome!
UPDATE JUST HOURS LATER: at least 100 down in the course of an hour! And found it telescopes out twice, so longer than I thought - now I got those suckers on the ceiling! My husband says I like my new toy too much ;)Die suckers! Thanks to flash floods followed by a heat wave, the mosquito population has exploded this year. We rent an old farmhouse, and the landlords have said for years they would fix our ill-fitting screens, but it never seems to happen. We have wasps, ladybugs, and stinkbug seasons that lead to a localized infestation at different times of the year, and finally I have a weapon other than a husband with quick reflexes and a fistful of paper towels! We tried everything for the mosquitoes that took over our house this week. I am slathered in OFF spray, lavender oil lotion, and sporting a mosquito-repellant bracelet, but still get betting about 1-2 times every hour. Until now. We bought a light that is supposed to trap the mosquitoes. Total BS. But is does attract them, so we put that in one corner of the dining room. We had at least 50 of the little buggers on the wall and ceiling around it last night. Today my zapper arrived. I turned on the lamp and got to work. Okay - the zap is a serious zap. I mean sparks and noise that makes me jump. But damn, it is amazing to feel back in control of my own home. I have been doing a sweep through the house every couple of hours and probably am down to about a dozen that are out of reach. Not a single bite in two hours. I am going to sleep with this on the nightstand!Pros- immediate gratification. No waiting and seeing if your repellent actually works.- easy to use. Make sure you flip the red switch by the green button to turn it on. At first I thought it was busted until I actually read the instructions.- good reach. It has a fairly long handle (I am 5'5" and just barely miss reaching the top of the walls). The rotating net section is nice, as you can trap and then zap with assurance, but I find this a bit awkward and miss more with that technique.cons- noisy and a bit disturbing. I am one of those people who traps and releases a mouse, and the idea of killing bugs is not my ideal. But with West Nile Virus in my area, and finding no real redeeming element for mosquitoes, I am getting a bit too much glee from the slaughter.- it is big. Great for reaching high up, but difficult for catching the bugs that are in corners (they seem to love to hid in the edge of door frames where I cannot get to them)

Really a great product - Read FYI
The Extendable Insect Zapper is a great product worth every penny. I don't feel comfortable if I don't have a working insect zipper. When zapping the insect - flying, roach, etc. it is much cleaner and sanitary to use the zapper. Most of the time when I zap an insect and keep the on button pressed the insect will stick to the zapper until I have it over the trash can or toilet then I release the button and insects will fall into the intended location. I keep the side red button in the on position so it’s ready to use and I’m not fumbling around trying to turn it on. I find it helpful if one is like me gets a little panicked (I’m scared of insects). Hey everyone, is afraid of something I’m not afraid of mice lol.Anyway, FYI a few days ago I attempted to use zapper, but it would not turn on. I changed the batteries and nothing it would not turn on; I am dependent on my zapper so I ordered a replacement before throwing the old one out I examined the zapper again. (((IMPORTANT))) Before throwing out the zapper open the battery compartment look at the springs my spring was stuck under the compartment. The metal piece holding the spring slipped back into the handle.*You will have to slide that metal part with the spring forward and make sure it doesn’t slide back into the handle compartment1) First, take out both batteries2) Look to see the position of the springs on of the springs may have slipped into the handle.3) Take a pair of tweezers or some instrument push the spring back gently pull the spring forward.4) Once the spring is in the correct position – see if the metal piece attached to spring is in its correct position.5) You want the spring to touch the middle of the battery when It is in the handle may have to play with it several times to place the battery in without the spring sliding back under the part in the handle.6) Once the battery is in and spring is touching at the base of the battery place the second battery test it by sliding the button in the on position then pressing the light it should turn on.7) Use care when replacing used batteries, the next time$13 is not a lot of money, but no one wants to replace an item when you don’t have to. I hope this information is useful.

Brilliant for killing moths and fles without ending up with them squashed onto the wall. Wish the handle was a little longer though as my ceilings are high.

This is an amazing buy! We already had one and we were looking for another for a family member. All the way from the USA for the price and so quickly - absolute bargain. Wonderful for wasps!

Zapper that colapses when you extend it.
This zapper is a good idea but the square part of the bat does not stay rigid enough to be much use when you extend it and try to turn it.

Best zapper I've ever owned
This is an essential item for me. Not only is it fantastic as a basic bug zapper, but the telescopic handle along with the fact that you can angle the zapper itself takes this thing to a whole new level! You can zap any creepy crawly thing with ease and from a distance thanks to the extending handle. This is also especially fantastic for getting those spiders on the ceiling! The gridlines on this are tight so even the smallest bugs don't escape. The only downside is that the zapper head when fully extended can be somewhat flimsy and if you're not careful it can move on you mid zap.... but it's still the best one I've ever used.
