THOMAS' MAGNETIC PLA Hardcover – Picture Book, October 23, 2001

Update: Amazon sent another one in much better packaging. All magnets were there. Thank you!Thomas' Magnetic Playbook was not sealed. When I opened the box, the part of the book holding the magnets was open and the magnets were falling out. 1 important magnet (Thomas himself!) was missing. My two year old started playing with it and immediately said "where's Thomas!" Too much effort to have to return.Otherwise the book seems entertaining enough for an upcoming road trip with the 2 year old. Wish the magnets and board were stickier but otherwise good portable toy for the price.

The concept is great but I wish the magnets were stronger. My grandson loves Thomas and his Friends so this book is a great idea, just needed the magnets to hold onto the pages better.

I bought this to replace one that we had but lost all the magnets. this is a very nice book well really it is like a play set. It comes with 9 magnets and I believe 4 different pages you can make believe and recreate your favorite Thomas and Friends Shows. Reminds me of the colorforms I had as a kid except theses are magnets. I will say if you let your child use these magnets on your fridge remove them when playtime is over. Our original set we lost some magnets due to them becoming 'stuck" to the fridge and we had to basically scrape them off. they had been left on for days though so some short playtime should not cause an issue. All in all still a gre4at product and a great price.

I've purchased this book three times - for my own kids and as then as gifts. It's a fun busy book that is great at home and in the car. The magnets and pages have held up over the year very well after hours of play.Be careful when you first open the plastic to hold the magnets - it lasts as a holder for the magnets for years, making it easy to grab and go. My son is rough on toys sometimes but I showed him how to open and he hasn't broken it yet :)

I have 2 year old obsessed with Thomas! I bought this as a church and airplane toy. He loves it and it's a nice and quiet toy! Has 9 magnets and I think 2 or 3 scenes that they can place the magnets on. The magnets aren't the strongest, but can't really be since your kid needs to take them on and off. But, because of that you will have to pick up a magnet from time to time off the gound. Good storage place for the magnets that is durable to open and closing it. Nice thin book to be able to travel with.

Our son loves this item... specifically, playing with the magnets. There are only a few pages and the magnets don't stick to the pages super strongly, but that makes them easier to move around like trains would move. Our now 22-month old son has ended up taking the magnets all over the house and playing with them more than he plays with them on the book. The plastic case doesn't really hold the magnets too well unless the book is closed. But it kept him occupied on a plane ride for awhile :)

My 2 year old daughter is obsessed with all things Thomas and absolutely loves this magnetic book. I was worried that the magnets would be too strong and hard for her to take off, but she has no problem. There really isn't much of a story to it, so don't expect it, but there are a few cute little factoids that my daughter thinks are funny. My only complaint is that she was a little upset that the inside cover and inside back cover are not magnetic like the inner pages.

I saw many reviews on the book only having a few pages, but I decided to take a chance anyway. Those reviews were true... there is a total of 6 pages (see photo) only and there is barely one sentence for 2 of the pages. I fully expected only a few pages, but NOT expecting the short sentence (was hoping it be a nice short story book kind of thing) in some of the pages. Very disappointing and I almost return it. However, I looked at the price and figure for $5, it should be ok... not great, but it’s one of those you get what you pay for thing...

My nephew lobe this book ..he is 3 ..love Thomas and friends and loved that we could read the story but he could make his own story putting the trains where he wanted to..the only thing I wish it had is a pouch on the last page or the back of the book to put the magnets in when not using as he insisted on taking all of the magnets of of the last page when the story was done and they were sitting on the floor..of courses adults put them in the book.. but if he was to play with the book on his own the magnets could very easily vet misplaced..where if there was a place to put them I feel at the end of the book he may take them and put them there..but overall this book was a great purchase and I highly recommend it as it is also somthing they interact with and keeps their attention

My son spends hours playing with this book. He puts the trains all over the place and the pieces are big enough to find when he has misplaced them. He used to love books before but this magnetic book kind of brings the story to life. The magnets aren't super strong but that works for us because if he couldn't get them off the page then he would get frustrated and it would be a pain for all of us. I am very pleased with this book and am planning on buying another one for my nephew for Christmas.

Ordered this book for my son for Christmas. So, he hasn't got to play with it yet. However, I do know he will be ecstatic about it!It's a very good quality book. The pages and magnets are nice and strong. They will hold up to many hours of play.The only downside to this book is that I wish it had more magnets and more pages! But, that's just me being greedy. Hopefully, they will come out with another :) Love it!

This was a gift for my grandson and he loved it. Right away he played with the magnets, placing the trains on the tracks all in a line, as he likes to do with his other trains. I loved that everything stuck to the pages so nicely, he could move on to other pages, leaving some trains on the tracks, and everything stuck well, nothing fell off.

A much cherished book! Our son likes to sit by the fridge and read while he makes a Thomas Scene on the fridge door with the magnets! Really fun activity! Highly recommend!
