Australia ABCs: A Book About the People and Places of Australia (Country ABCs) Paperback – January 1, 2003

I read a page at a time and have students try and memorize the alphabet with each letter. For example, We start with A is for Australia, and the next child will say, "A is for Australia and B is for baby" and so on. OK, those aren't the ones from the book, just examples. It's a fun twist and makes reading interactive. :)

I read this book to my 4th grade students. They were thrilled with the pictures and very engaged with the content. A great instructional book about Australia as well as a fun alphabet book.

Used as an intro to an art lesson. Good book. I can't believe they require a minimum amount of words. Crazy. They want an opinion and then ask for so many words. What are they nuts!

This is a nice alphabet book with good facts about Australia. I would estimate it would be useful for 3rd - 5th graders. Nice illustrations.

This is a easy book to read for students to explore aspects of a different country and culture.

I am very big on buying lots of books for all the kids and people in my life and this book does not disappoint. Great illustrations and content.

My grandchildren love this book

This book, advertised as an ABC on Australia. DO NOT purchase this book as a gift if you think it will be depicting Australia accurately. The research is mostly accurate, but any Australian would know that some of the depictions are ridiculous. Strine! Nobody I know refers to the English they speak as Strine, this is hilarious. The flag - 6 states and 2 territories does not add up to the points on the star and every Australian child knows this! Mob - although this is a large group of kangaroos, when a person refers to a mob, it is very rarely about kangaroos. This is THE most disappointing children's book purchase I have made. I wanted a book reflecting my country to give as a gift to friends to help explain Australia, what I found was some truth and some colorful pictures scattered with inaccuracies. It is disappointing, now I do not trust any of the other books in the Country ABC series, what is accurate what is not? I can't give someone a gift and then have to sit with them and explain - well this isn't really true!0 stars would be more apt.

great book for my KS1 class

This is a great book, easy to read and had lots of great pictures. My students love reading about Australia, so this book is perfect for them!
