Hard to believe until you install one
I did not know if this product would work well on my sluggish truck with 285k miles. I was getting about 12 mpg with 14 being my highest. After installing I tried driving on a slight incline keeping the accelerator where I was holding exactly 60 mph. I then switched on the fly from the stock to the 50hp increase setting. Without pressing any harder on the accelerator, the truck sped up to 70 mph. Then on a steeper incline I was maintaining 65 mph on the 50hp setting and then switched to the 140hp. Again without pressing the accelerator speed increased to 75 and was climbing so I had to let off. I bought this chip with the hopes of increasing mileage. My first tank I drove conservatively on the 50hp setting and averaged 17.6. My second tank I drove normally on the 75hp setting and averaged 14.2. The fact that I got such noticeable increases in power and mileage (over 25%) exceeded my expectations. The fact I can switch settings on this chip while driving is awesome and I am so glad I did not get one of those modules that plug into the OBD port instead. My truck is a 97 F350, but now it's drivability is much more similar to a newer diesel. I highly recommend anyone with an older diesel get one of these.

Completely Unbelievable Performance Enhancement. LOVE IT!!!!
I'd give 100 stars if I could. I'm a gasoline guy, but just purchased my first diesel, a 2000 F250 4x4 Crew Cab with the famous 7.3. I got it cheap because it had 358000 miles on it, and lots of dents - perfect for driving around ranches where paint jobs won't be of any concern. I drove it from Houston to San Antonio and checked fuel economy. This thing gave me 7.8 mpg, and that's nearly 3 hours of highway driving. Wasn't happy at all. My motor home (35') got the same mileage going to Central City, CO. So I needed to drive the diesel from San Antonio to Charleston, WV. Decided to try the chip. Watched lots of YouTube videos on installing it, as well as best settings, etc. Chip installed very easily, and so far I've tested positions 1 through 4. That's right, I've never run the 100 or 140 hp settings, and don't plan on it. Remember I said 358000 miles! So I was hoping for the 3 mpg boost from this chip, thinking it'd pay for itself in one round trip from San Antonio to Charleston, WV. With the truck loaded down with wood slabs, a fireplace and grill, I averaged 15.7 mpg running at 70 MPH average. Tested it at the 75 hp setting at 65 MPH and got just over 19 mpg. I'm totally blown away by this increase, and the chip paid for itself already, and that's just 1 way! The extra horsepower is nice too, but when you're watching fuel economy, every mpg extra is more $ in your pocket. I absolutely love this thing and can't fathom why everyone who drives a diesel doesn't chip it. The folks who build these vehicles should be ashamed of themselves for not doing this at the factory.

Got this part hoping for great things to happen when I installed it in my truck. When I attempted to install it I could tell right away that something was not right as the chip would not seat on the circuit board properly. Upon examination I found one of the terminals on the chip was distorted which was not allowing it to fully seat. I attempted to return it to the seller but the 30 day return period had already passed. I contacted the manufacturer three times before I received a response that they had received the picture that I sent them three times. I was instructed to mail the part to them which I did. Three weeks later I emailed the representative that I spoke to on the phone and successfully emailed the picture to with no response. I phoned the next day to inquire as to the disposition of the warranty claim which he told me was denied because the damage occurred during installation or programming, all of which occurs outside of the manufacturing facility. I did the installation which was straightforward and simple and honestly I can't imagine how it could possibly have received the damage during programming. It would have to be deliberate in order for that damage to occur. They did offer to SELL me another one at a discounted price but quite frankly I would be a fool to throw good money after bad since the same thing could happen to me again. In my opinion it would be absolutely impossible for the defect to occur in either the programming or installation unless it was deliberate. I truly did not want to post this negative feedback but I have exhausted all options to settle my claim satisfactorily. This product may be a fantastic performer when it is right but if something is wrong with it customer support is pitiful and the warranty guarantee isn't worth the paper it is written on. Bottom line, I would say save yourself the headache and aggravation as well as the hole in your pocket. Don't purchase this product.
