Enquiring minds want to know
I stumbled across this book and was intrigued because I had watched the show called, “The Mentalist”. What I discovered while reading it was truly astonishing. It seemed the show’s creator, Bruno Heller, had put a lot of thought into the naming of all the characters. The author of this book goes on to explain how these names came about. It would seem that Mr. Heller decided to use some names that related to characters in previous shows such as “THE FUGITIVE” that a Mr. Roy Huggins had created. Also going back to the 60’s, he used names from other Roy Huggins shows such as “MAVERICK”. Mr. Daniel goes through astounding DECIPHERING methods to explain this. His insights are truly intriguing. Finding ANAGRAMS and ACRONYMS, and the like, he DECODES the CIPHERS and CLUES Mr. Heller had very intentionally introduced. I was just watching the show for its entertainment value and never gave a thought to any CODES or CLUES. But Mr. Daniel saw all the connections between Huggin’s earlier creationsand those of Bruno Heller’s, “The Mentalist” Then he goes on to Bruno Heller’s use of NUMEROLOGY! This was mind boggling.I won’t give anything away here but this next step was an eye opener. Numbers don’t lie. You need to read it. The author also compares the PROTAGANIST to the ANTAGONIST’s name and shows,to the discerning viewer, how one might have figured out who the killer was, long before it was presented at the shows big reveal. A most intriguing read and I’m sure Mr. Heller would never have expected that someone out there was reading his clues and DECIPHERING his CODES. Mr. Daniel has a very unusual gift for codebreaking. A great find,Dave R

Most ridiculous book I've ever purchased.
Most ridiculous book I've ever purchased. It's advertised as an explanation of secret codes about the identity of Red John contained in each episode. Instead you get ridiculous comparisons to TV shows of the 1960s and meaningless anagrams of the characters' names. Do not waste your money on this book.

The author is a true Mentalist
Bruno Heller created over a dozen systems of codes and clues, from The Fugitive, to names, to birth dates, to anagrams, to a letter from Red John, and more, all of them leading the viewer to the identity of Red John. While no one else found any of these systems of codes and clues, David Daniel found them all. David Daniel is a true Mentalist.

Unless you are into numerology this book will be disappointing ...
Unless you are into numerology this book will be disappointing. It is a rambling and confusing read. The few illustrations are ok. I'm sure the author is a fan, but I can't imagine many other fans of The Mentalist are into numerology.

Most amazing code-breaking ever!
The creator of The Mentalist meant for someone to find all these codes and clues, and the author did. He figured out the identity of Red John in just two episodes, and continued to decipher all the codes and clues throughout the series. A true masterpiece of code-breaking and lots of fun throughout!

So brilliant, I don't believe it
While the rest of us were trying to figure out the identity of Red John, the author pulled clues and codes and names and birthdates out of a hat like a magician. I've been watching the show over again to see his clues in motion. True genius.
